  1. Are there any plans to improve "stealth" elements in the game?

    EDIT:
    Aw, another one. :P
We already know from the previous streams that the character of Hayden Tenno from darkSector is known in Warframe as the "first Tenno", but is the story of darkSector canonical for Warframe? If not, how about remaking the original game (kickstarter, hint, hint ^^) as a single player game again? ;)
EDIT2: Oh, and if yes, how about a darkSector2 (single player)? :D

    And:
Who is lying in the Cryopods? Who are the hostages from the rescue missions? :D

  2. Yes. I've been thinking about it and I think that straightforward Earth frame would be a perfect fit for me. Since there's no such thing as "stealth" in this game I can't keep fooling myself thinking that Ash, Banshee and Hydroid are for me. I need some tanky eath bending bada-. :)
Anyway, Rhino is close enough so I'd rather see something completly fresh next time like, i don't know, nuke warframe ("I'm here to kick &#! and chew bubblegum...")? :D

They need a warframe with dark powers.

    Nekros?

  3. Well the Excalibur Proto-Armor is hinted to pre-date the Orokin empire.

It's just a reference to their older game, darkSector. Not sure if its story is officialy part of the lore, but looks like Hayden Tenno - the main protagonist - is. So, he's the first Tenno and the one who started the Orokin era I think. So, Tenno can be Orokin descendants as well. :D

Considering Hayden was the first Tenno, he "fought for the balance" yes? Well, here is what I believe:

    1) Hayden was tricked by the Lotus, in some form or another, and put into stasis. The Cryopod. Who knows where he is? Once he is found, IF he is found, he may know everything that is actually happening. He will tell the Tenno, and we will either side or kill him in honor of or despite of Lotus.

    2) Hayden is actually the Stalker. Imagine Hayden as the Stalker, and read this:

    "(...)"

This is my mere assumption of what has happened, and I could be completely and utterly wrong. But if you got something better, let me know.

I can agree with #1, but #2 doesn't quite work for me because Hayden was way too powerful in darkSector to end up as "low guardian" + his mutation was different than other Tennos. We would recognise his arm.

EDIT: I would read your book as well. ;)

But as for me... I'm trusting this eyeless... I mean, I trust her because I have to... and love her voice. :D

  4. My ex girlfriend played it since open beta started and she invited me. I love this kind of TPP games so I immediately liked this one too.

In the meantime, she got bored with Warframe but my character became powerful enough to continue playing solo and with random people. :D And here I am, ~a year with you guys. :D

  5. Unfortunately I do not think that would be a possibility. Everything in the game is saved to DE's servers. As far as I know the only thing saved to your computer is the settings and colours on warframes/weapons.

Also crash reports. I had an interesting reading when I've found a folder with all my reports from the whole year.

  6. I think you'd be happier if your Tenno visibly reacted to things around him/her.

An explosion occurs nearby, your Ash glances in its direction.

Squadmate downed? Weight shifts from foot to foot as Ash displays visible distress that you aren't having him rush to your downed ally.

Or maybe just implement some usable Frame emotes that aren't silly faces projected above, but expressive body language.

^ This option has of course been talked about extensively in both Livestreams and the Forums

Yes, you are right. I would be happier with those things.

OK, OK, I give up. Maybe as a rookie developer myself I'm getting overexcited about some weird (and even lazy?) design ideas. Sorry guys.

  7. Before encountering Warframe? Hmm... I've been a fan of this kind of TPP since I can remember so... many similar (in terms of gameplay) games I think, but the most played game by me was: Splinter Cell - all of them.
But if we're talking about F2P. Dota2 or Smite then.

  8. We have already suggested a compromise: just make it avoidable. Give the Commander a tele-ray, or a charge-up or something that you can avoid if you're paying attention. It doesn't have to be completely removed in my opinion, but as it is now it's just a huge annoyance, it's a bad design decision, and it's immersion-breaking unless I assume what the Jackal said about my Tenno's mental acuity is true.

Why not both? Avoidable teleportation with x% for Tenno to be confused by it. ;)

  9. Just imagine in a racing game, if a car gets crashed behind you, you can't do anything because your pilot suddenly turns his head back to see what happened ! Still okay ?

Hmm, sounds cool, but you are right, not when it happens all the time. :D But I still think that it would be pretty exciting to see implemented in some cases.

So, OK, OK. All that I'm saying is that it is a pretty cool idea but can agree with you, it doesn't work all the time. And not that I love it to death or something. It's "just" cool for me. Maybe DE can remove it but not completly? I mean, many things and actions in the game are based on %s. Maybe if there was like 2% chance for Tenno to be confused while being teleported by the Commander? It's pretty rare and still leave some chance to slightly increase the difficulty for some players (especially the ones that are complaing about the difficulty). You know, I saw about 4 topics here today about Warframe being too easy (but in fact, I didn't read them) so that's why I feel it's the good way to satisfy that kind of gamers.

But as I think about it, you are right. Not everyone should suffer because of some crazy design ideas, at least not every time. :D

  10. Yeah uh...say that when surrounded by 20+ lvl 65 Grineer units

That's why I said "rarely". But even if I end up bleeding out on the floor after that teleportation, I have a team to help me. It's called cooperation.

The animations are buggy as hell, doesn't look fluid or good in anyway, especially Excaliburs. The head turning in itself looks so sickeningly awkward.

Hmm, I didn't see Excalibur's animation and how he stands up to the teleportation to 20+ lvl 65 Grineers. Gotta play as him again. And maybe then I'll agree with.

  11. There's already a cover system in the game.. Just hid around a box/container/corner, and use your camera switch to literally shoot behind it. It's an 3ps trick from like the 90s bro.

Yes, I know. But it doesn't work as it should. My bullets still disappear hitting invisible hitbox. Just like in 90's bro.

  12. Hey, hey! Cover system wouldn't prevent players from speed running and parkouring. Why do you think otherwise?

And yes. I do need a cover system. It would help me to really feel stealthy. I bought Ash and Banshie especially because they were said to be "stealth" but there's no such thing as "stealth" in this game which is very disappointing. And as I said, this game is pretty cool as it is, dodging and running and stuff is nice, I know, but there are some situations (especially when I really want to play stealthy - yeah, i'm this kind of player) when quick sneak and fire from behind the cover would be very helpful. ;)

or you know... crouching or hiding behind a wall works too.

    It's way too oldschool. :D

  13. Warframe is a third person shooter done really, really good. It has everything that the game of that genre should have except the one thing. Cover system. Even a simple one. I feel kind of silly when I see the Grineer, Corpus and even the hostages from rescue missions (when I borrow him/her the weapon) can hide and fire from behind the objects. And I, the elite warrior, the best of the best, the great Tenno, need to stay on the open because if I really want to hit the enemy I need to go out from my hding place because bullets still hit the edges of the wall and other objects that I'm hiding behind. Only exception are bows.
Also, I remember darkSector, it had very simple cover system, but it really worked out for me. I miss it in Warframe. :D

  14. Once when I created Nyx and just started to play her (she was about lvl 4 I think) I joined some session and the Grustrag attacked. The host left immediately and after loading screen I woke up captured by one of the Three. Then the other player, which became the host left the game and after another loading screen I woke up dead. End of mission.

Next time it was on Derelict, I've scanned all of the Three, then the game crashed.

No more memories regarding those pretty cool guys. Pretty shame. :(

  15. Who said that Orokin couldn't fight even with each other? I've read some topics here and codex descriptions for Stalker, Excalibur, Ember etc.so I can believe that Orokin could have been destroyed by their own. You know. It looks like some of them weren't happy with the political system in the Empire and decided to rise the resistance against their hated Emperor while calling themselves "The Sentients". Using any means necessairy (so it doesn't eliliminate your ideas above) they started the "old war" driving to the eventual destruction of the Orokin. Maybe there would be some other reasons for "The Sentience" actions. I don't know, but it's just my idea. That would also add some pretty cool "political thriller" thing into the story.

By the way, I'd like to see Dark Sector 2 (or reboot of DS1)  to see the rise and fall (or just rise to remain their fall as misterious as it's now) of the Orokin Empire. ;)

  16. Oh, if Eris wasn't Corpus' planet I would say it would be cool to see new boss on Earth, since "they are not alone and they will reinforce against the Tenno" and Kril moving out to Eris. But it's not going to happen I think. :D

Anyway. All that was said in the thead sound great. Can't wait to see what DE have in their sleeve and who is right here. :D
