  1. Some thoughts on the Silva and Aegis.

    Firstoff, I'm new to posting, though I'm not new to WF, been playing since last November. So, to introduce myself- Hi, I'm slumpyvanguard, if you care. I use Valkyr primarily and write rps/ fanfics for my character, the original Valkyr.

    Anyways.

     

    The Silva and Aegis were taken from a fan concept, which is awesome, go DE for interacting with us, but- maybe because it was released with everything else in U14 but it really kind of sucks for mid to late game. 

    Low base damage (35 heat) low stats otherwise, excepting status chance, which everyone knows isn't very useful with hat damage. Hard to mod for.

     

    But the Sword and Shield shouldn't rely on base stats for their strong points. In order to make this category of weapons useful, I think a new blocking mechanic should be implemented, because when equipped, the shield makes for a great parry tool.

     

    So, the idea.

    -When weapon not in hand (using primary or secondary), in order to block, player holds (E) and uses minimal stamina to block all incoming shots from the front, but slightly reduces sprinting speed.

    -Player can still use secondary weapon while blocking, aiming from behind their shield.

     

    Perhaps this could be part of Eleventh Storm?

    Of course, this is combining several pre U13 ideas, but I thought it might be helpful for the poor Silva and Aegis because right now it is trying to use its good looks to make up for its underpar stats.

     

    What do you think? Worthy of DE's attention? I'm eager to hear brainstorming

  2. Like I said- it works for me, even into the higher tiers- though it may not work for everyone. If you increase the shield recharge rate you can sort of get past that issue. Additionally, taking damage is important, with rage.

    Anywho just thought I'd drop in my build to the bunch to diversify it!

    It's all focused around Paralysis, with with a ranked strength mod and a max shield, allows for a great amount of damage output each time you use it. Paralysis is special because it costs so little, and with Valkyr, if you use her well, if her shields are down, it doesn't matter. You take damage, gain energy with Rage, and use that energy to cast Warcry and Hysteria.

    Paralysis and Warcry work well together, too. Stunning enemies and then using Warcry keeps them in the stunned state for longer, and if you're using melee primarily, that is extremely useful.

    It works for me, but it might not for you. You could switch out the shield for a Steel Fiber if you don't care as much about damage output from Paralysis.
