  1. Just had this glitch twice yesterday when I decided to give Warframe another go after a 4 month hiatus of playing this game (got sick of glitches and DE's inept ability to get sh!t done.) Glad to see nothings changed, I'll give it another couple months then try again :P Maybe this game will be out of beta by the time I have grand-kids...

  2. Everyone loves the new Brakk range falloff right?

I mean, its so "realistic" and fun, it should be applied to MORE weapons that should have a range limit.

The rest of the "shotgun pistols" goes without saying.... but what about the hand thrown weapons?

Like Hikous and Kunais and let's not forget the Despairs.

And of course arrows fired from bows also have traditionally been known to fall steadily downward after some travel time.

Of course, the real-life damage falloff isn't really as drastic as  what was used on the Brakk, but this is "selective" realism anyway. As the damage falloff fans (and we're ALL fans of this awesome concept aren't we?) are quick to point out, videogames tend to exaggerate the damage falloff for weapons like shotguns anyway. It's an industry standard apparently, and a sacred cow that must be worshipped.

We'll be able to have awesomeness like bows that use sniper ammo but have the range of a glaive. Or better yet, the kestrel. Heck, at that point it'd probably be more efficient to just pluck them from the quiver and throw them by hand, but that would just make the weapon into a set of oversized kunai, and we need variety in our game right? Because variety is good. And that means making lots of different models of guns that work like cheap fisher price toys, and melee weapons that work like they're contending to be a humane replacement for the devilish practice of tickle torture.

I cannot wait for this to be implemented (it's a foregone conclusion that it WILL be implemented given the enormous, nay UNANIMOUS support for damage falloff). And when it happens, DE can update their tagline. The old one was kind of stale anyway. "Waframe - Ninjas Play Free"?

When the last of these cool changes go live they can replace it with something REALLY catchy. "Warframe - Guns that fire BBs and swords that hit like oversized-fish."

The hipness of that alone will probably cause the player base to multiply by a factor of 1 billion. (People will be cloning themselves just to have a fresh new players to run Mercury missions with, while the rest of the solar map goes unexplored since it will be instant death to set foot outside the starter zone with the weapons we will have).

I'm so excited for this!!! And already bracing for the flood of upvotes.

**On a side note, Banshee does not really need SoundQuake. It's way too powerful for Warframe. Give her something more in character, like maybe  a Brown Noise ability that makes enemies void their bowels.

Also, Nova's Molecular Prime should just make enemies glitter like the vampires in Twlight. That would be so cool!

You Sir have made my day!!

  3. I assumed he was making an average, and you were correcting him on the chance multiplier.

10% chance per bullet, but 5 different rolls of that chance. (Impact, Puncture, Slash, Elemental 1, Ele 2)

So help me out, highschool was a long time ago:

Probability of Status chance ( Impact or Puncture or Slash or Ele 1 or Ele 2) = Probability of (Impact) + (Puncture) + (Slash) + (Ele 1) + (Ele 2)

Therefore, if a weapon has 10% status, and 5 different damage types, it has a 50% chance to proc at least 1 per bullet.

    Correct?

Nope, the 10% status chance (also remember I'm using 10% as a base example, I know other weapons have a higher or lower status chance) is applied to each separately, the only thing that increases the status chance is the specific mod for each weapon type (Melee Prowess, Rifle Aptitude, etc.)

Edit: Reading over again I gather what you're thinking is that because having 5 different damage types at 10% status chance it equals up to 50% chance but again that isn't the case.

You have to look at them separately, by your logic with 5 damage types equipped you'd be getting a 50/50 chance of proc every shot which if you go and try it simply isn't the case.

  4. If you're going to be a smart &#!, then provide the appropriate correction(s).

I guess I'm the only one here who graduated high school, let's look at how odds work shall we?

At a 10% chance PER bullet you don't just add up the amount of shots you have and times that by 10% to get the amount that'll proc. That's like saying if there is a contest for those 'roll up the rim to win' coffee cups wherein you have a 1 in 6 chance to win, and you buy 6 cups of coffee you have a guaranteed chance to win one of them.

It doesn't work that way, it's a 1 in 6 chance to win PER cup. Same goes with status chance PER bullet, if you fire 100 bullets with a 10% chance of proc that doesn't mean 10 of them will proc. It's a 10% chance PER bullet, your odds don't change regardless of how many shots you fire.

Now what that means obviously is that while shooting more bullets may increase the odds of actually GETTING a bullet to proc it doesn't mean that given a set amount of bullets (his example of having 616 bullets and 62 of them would proc) a set amount will have a elemental effect applied.
  5. do you freaking realize how much i don't care

It's freaking Brakk, I don't even need mods besides Hornet Strike and it murders everything already. Besides, it has a catalyst so I have like 12 unused points. And procs aren't even good, I just do it for the awesome visual effects.

    Anyhow:

With mods, my Brakk has 8 shots in the magazine, average 16 pellets per shot. That's ~128 shots per mag. I have 5 things that can proc, so 616 chances to proc per mag.

At 10% chance, that's ~62 procs per mag.

At 12.5% chance, that's ~77 procs per mag.

I'm not even going to go into Soma's math.

It's terrifying to me that you think your math is right....

  6. I absolutely love the OP's idea and it's incredibly well thought out. Unfortunately there's just one itty bitty tiny flaw, this will never happen... ever.

Don't get me wrong here, I love Warframe and I think DE has done an amazing job, but implementing new things is not their strong suit. If by some miracle DE did decide to change gears we might see something barely resembling this in the next two years... maybe.

DE is great at releasing new content, LOTS of new content. We have dozens upon dozens of weapons, Warframes, tile sets, etc., but fixing and introducing new mechanics? Nah, sorry, ain't happening.

  7. +1 I couldn't agree more.

I especially agree with your comment of spending too much time watching your stamina bar making sure you don't run out.  Seven times out of ten when I need to sprint up a wall or sprint-slide-jump to make it across a large gap if I wasn't keep track of how much stamina I had left I wouldn't be able to pull off the maneuver.

The reason that I can't pull off those maneuvers whenever I want is because I'm STILL having to chase after people who just run through the map, killing only every third enemy as they run to the objective. Stamina is now ONLY useful for catching up to people.

DE just doesn't seem to grasp that no matter what they do there will always be rushers. Trying to nerf stamina and sprint only hurts everyone else.

Rushers will always rush because it's not just about how fast there moving, it's that they avoid enemies and take the fastest straightest route to the objective so they can finish the mission and bounce to another one.

I'm feeling less and less like a fast acrobatic space ninja and more like, well, a space ninja with asthma.

  8. Absorb is bugged.

The aggro doesn't work until the invincibility goes away. Causing the explosion to do next to no damage and you to immediately die afterwards.

That said, Nyx is top tier already. Far from being in dire need of buffs.

Kinda conflicting statements there don't ya think?

So absorb, Nyx's ultimate, is bugged, does next to no damage and you immediately die afterwards? Yet she's totally top tier and in no dire need of a buff.

    Huh?

  9. Implement a 'strip all mods' button, additionally have left click remove a mod to the first available inventory slot ( rather than you having to find an available slot to put it into ).

    ^

This!! Definetly could use this! A big thumbs up here.

  10. There have already been tons of posts on the topic but I have to say this decision by the devs to add a slide cool down is incredibly shortsighted and has caused me to lose a little faith in their competence to solve issues. Personally I think this was definitely and attempt to stop rushers but as many others have pointed out, that's the last thing it did. Really frustrating to see this from a otherwise very cool development team.

  11. Mind control is literally fine. In fact it's one of the better 25 energy abilities. (of course most of the 25 abilities suck) Mind control is the only skill that will take an enemy of any level out of the fight. Not only that but the enemy absorbs some fire for you and possibly shoots enemies.

I've always found Mind Control to be rather useless, sure it takes an enemy out of the equation for what, five seconds? Then you or one of your teammates guns it down. They should add a buff to the controlled unit like extra damage while mind controlled or a weak shield to allow them to survive even a little longer so they can kill something.
