  1. I'm not sure if you're still recruiting, but I'd be very much interested in joining if you are.

I took a long break after U18 or so and recently came back to the game. I've been playing pretty solidly since, and have found a lot of fun in fashionframe. Due to the break I'm missing a fair few cosmetics, but I'm working my way there and making do with what I have until then.

I'm MR19 at the minute, and as for my best fashion frame, I guess that'll have to be my Saryn.

Something to do with the Infested Room. Bug happened when I entered there.

I managed to catch it on video:

Edit: This has happened for the third time now. This time after exiting the Focus menu.

It happened again. Caught this one on video too.

It doesn't seem to be the Infested Room causing it as it has happened when using all completely different equipment.

  4. The thing is i do not suffer from these problems, as I play Loki and I am permanently invisible either way, but the lack of empathy in any players. Yes I am complaining about these BS enemy attributes, and perhaps I should have said improve rather than remove in the title, but saying "it is possible to dodge this so therefore you suck" even if it requires inhumane amounts of reflexes is the most important part. I am less complaining about these BS enemy abilities and more trying to give some awareness to other players that when they say "you suck because you didn't dodge" you are giving off expectations that a person can not always accomplish.

The reason why I highlighted this in bold is because this is exactly what I am talking about. You have given me to options to A. Play Rhino or B. Predict you are going to be hit by grapple even if it is coming from behind me. Spin attacks, Soundquake, and blocking only work if you KNOW you are going to be grappled (unless you plan to stand there forever in Soundquake and Absorb or never stop spin attacking or blocking), but sometimes you don't know until you are actually grappled because they could be behind you or something, therefore boiling down to A. Play Rhino or B. Constantly spam Radibal Blind and hope you stop a potential grappler. So yes, while there are countermeasures, there are only two reliable ways to prevent it,, and soon after Excalibur's Radial Blind receives a nerf, only one.

The lack of empathy I can understand and I am guessing that is why you brought up hindsight bias and I can also understand not being able to predict every possible situation in a game but at the end of the day for me this makes the game more interesting, it can be annoying but it also makes it interesting. I was simply suggesting that nearly every frame has some ability that can help you to deal with a situation and I unlike others by saying something like "It's your fault for not dodging" I was attempting to highlight some of the things that can be used to PREVENT the situations or some to counteract them such as using radial blind whilst entering a room would usually give you ample time to find and kill the targets that could put you in these situations. Or you a good example of a more unorthodox method is Banshee's Sonar ability as it will stun an enemy for about 2 - 3 seconds as they enter its area of effect. Iron Skin or Decoy or Molt are good ways of preventing being grappled, Invisibility/Smokescreen prevents most of the abilities that can target, you can use Pull or Crush to incapacitate an enemy. Using Bladestorm will prevent you from being targeted for a time.

I was simply trying to point out ways of preventing and counteracting these situations. The the way you have worded your original post and most of your posts in the thread make you SEEM like you are making excuses and so I posted appropriately.

  5. I'm sorry to say this Valafor but all of your posts in this thread to mee seem like petty excuses to cover up the fact that you are bat the game and are frustrated because you don't know why you can't beat these enemies/mechanics/abilities. You make some valid points namesly that there are many situations where what to do would seem obvious however there are other variables that contribute to why it would have been difficult to get out of but at the end of the day the enemies in this game have these abilities because it adds a certain challenge to the game as otherwide it would get boring because killing a bunch of enemies programmed to simply shoot and take cover is not challenging enough to the majority of players and so these abilities are put in place, admittedly most of them are annoying however the game also has a number of mechanics, tactics, abilities etc. that are in place to help you to counteract these abilities/mechanics.

There is not a single enemy mechanic or ability that does not have some sort of prevetative or countermeasure. Sure you cannot prepare for every situation but most situations are preparable for by utilising mods and abilities, mechanics and weapons. An enemy grappled you? Prevent it using Iron Skin or by blocking or activating absorb, spin attack, sound quake, radial blind, rhino stomp, etc. You are getting gangraped by chargers? Use AOE or some ability to GTFO like Radial Blind, Disarm, (Switch) Teleport, Rhino Stomp, Sonic Boom, Decoy, Bladestorm, the list goes on and on and on. Too many enemies hot on your &#!? Use the Mutalist Quanta or Choas to make them attack each other, or use bastille/vortex to immobilise them etc.

Basically the only exeption to this are the Commando's with their Switch Teleport. This isn't as bad as you make it out to be seeing as in most cases you will have a team member to assist you unless you have either run off on your own or they have left you behind, either of these situations if your won fault. If you are playing solo then fair enough but this game is designed to be played with a team, sometimes you will get a bad team sometimes you will get a good one but on the whole it is a team game with mechanics and abilities designed to be utilised by the players to prevent these situations from happening or to assist you in getting yourself or a team member out of them.

    TL;DR:

OP making petty excuses because he hasn't learned to utilise his arsenal. Your arsenal does NOT include just your weapons, sentinel/kubrow and frame, it means taking advantage of the mechanics put in place to assist you.

  6. What do you think is the best way to remove unwanted kubrow?

I want to be able eject the Kubrow's Stasis Pod out of the airlock. The downside to this being that the player would lose a stasis slot however I believe that there should be a small chance for a player to receive one of these abandoned stasis pods as a login reward. You could perhaps have the lotus say a message like "Tenno, you have found an Stasis Pod amongst the debris orbiting [name of current planet player's Liset is orbiting]. The Kubrow within it still seems to be alive." the positive side of this being that you have a chance to find a kubrow and a stasis slot and to make it a little more immersive the Kubrow will be 100% disloyal as it is still technically loyal to it's previous master so the new master would have to earn it's loyalty. To counteract the community raging about having to lose a stasis slot to get rid of a Kubrow you could add a quest to release or euthanize the Kubrow as an alternate method of getting rid of them.

What is your opinion on the wait time between failed mastery tests?

I believe that we should be able to retry mastery tests instantly or after a short duration (say 30 - 60mins) However every time you try the test again the difficulty of it would be increased i.e less time, more enemies etc.  the difficulty of the mastery tests should also reset when the trades do.

What is your opinion on doors that require multiple players to unlock?

You need to implement an AFK feature that will mark a player in your game as AFK if they have not moved or interacted with the game in any way for more than 2 minutes, then you can have it so that if every player in your team is AFK other than you then you should be able to open the doors as i have found that often newer players will sit there and AFK whilst you complete the mission for them. Often there will only be 1 other player in these games and so if you come across one of these doors you cannot progress until either A) The AFK player(s) open it. B) A new player connects and opens it. or C) The AFK player disconnects from the game.

TL;DR Either make it auto-kick AFK players in games or make it so that you can open the doors if players are AFK.

Do you think the option to "Vote to Kick" is a good idea?

I believe it can be but the final vote would need to be passed to a moderator to make sure that the player being kicked deserves it for whatever reason. This could however be a problem as the moderators could quickly become swamped with spam vote to kick requests from many players at once.

TL;DR I believe a vote to kick option is necessary but to implement it effectively would be too much effort for very little reward.

don't forget to +1 or provide feedback if you agree, disagree or want to improve upon my ideas.

  7. I've seen a creepypasta very similer to this. It was something about 14-15 people that lived in this house, they didn't see each other often so didn't know each other. I think it was called "The Goatman" or something...

I literally read that for the first time yesterday.

It's creepy and unfortunately all I have is an image of the story but it's readable.

  8. Dude, why the hell would sicarus be doing the same DPS as boltor prime? Sicarus is a secondary. I would say... Maybe the boltor should be doing about (not exactly) as much DPS as the burston, which has the advantage of being hitscan, but the disadvantage of being burst fire.

The boltor prime should do more damage than the braton, but only as much to make up for it's slower rate of fire and non-hitscan firing. Resulting in a weapon that's worse for faster or harder to hit enemies, but better at close range and on easy to hit targets.

Sicarus versus lex? Lex should do more damage than two bullets, but not three. Meaning that lex is realy a mini sniper, whilst sicarus is better if you land all hits.

I did correct that in a slightly later post.

  9. Ah well, I should clarify that I think Primary Prime weapons should be balanced to be more or less as valid as the next, and Secondary Primes should be balanced in their own category, and Melee prime weapons should be comparable to other Melee prime weapons.

And it doesn't have to be simple DPS. For instance, Paris and Latron excell at long ranges. Boar should (but doesn't) devastate close range targets. Boltor, imo needs it's dps reduced just a little, because things like the physics impact and it's medium range utility alone make it powerful. Braton and Burston I can see being less powerful than the rest but should be solid and reliable even in T4 Survival - perhaps they should get better critical damage, to reward skilled play?

See this I totally agree with, 100%

  10. You're missing something though. It's not about 'dps' it's about your effectiveness against the enemy. If you can't kill your enemy, or if your teamates are so good at killing the enemy that you can't, you're probably not having as much fun as you could have.

I suppose this is true however refer to this post for my reasoning as to why I have said this:

I am saying it would be boring because there are certain primes that are a hell of a lot easier to get than others. If they were all equal then you could get yourself a Sicarus Prime and be dealing DPS the same as a Boltor Prime, I agree they need to be balanced as this guy says regarding both the Primes and also the Vandal and Wraith weapons:

All that I am saying is that the way Innocent_Flower has put it makes it seem to me as if he wants all prime weapons of each category to be dealing the same or similar damage/dps, this to me sounds like a bad idea because any new player can easily get a Sicarus Prime and deal the same DPS as the Lex Prime even though the Lex Prime is a lot more difficult to get.

  11. Wait, so it's boring if people can use whatever (Prime) weapon they want, instead of everyone using Boltor/Paris Prime?

What's wrong with buffing the other Prime weapons so that they're all as viable as one another? Prime weapons are all fairly difficult to get. Some might be more difficult than others, but changes in Void drop tables happen very often so that rarity isn't set in stone. Their rarity really depends on which one is the most recent one, more than anything else.

If someone likes closer range weapons, let them use Boltor and Boar Prime. Long range, precision, let them go for Paris and Latron and Lex. All-around reliable weapons like Braton and Burston should be just as good options if you like those qualities, and the same goes for the melee weapons.

Prime weapons are all on the same 'Tier', and one should be just as valuable as the next.

There's a pretty blatant level of inconsistency amongst the prime weapons. While I'm not going to go into minute detail over everything, the Boltor has a 120% base damage difference between it and its non-prime counterpart. The Sicarus Prime has a 10% or less difference in base damage between it and its counterpart. The power differences are all over the place without rhyme or reason.

It's silly and a majority of players are completely OK with difficulty (and tiers) being thrown out the window by a weapon that can be acquired by Mastery Rank 2 (if they trade for the parts or have buddies that will help them get the parts).

Prime, Wraith, and Vandal weapons should be on their own tier level. The weapon tiering in this game is non-existent and Scott has allowed it to persist for wayyyy too long.

  12. What if you realy love shotguns. So you grab yourself a boar.  Or maybe a strun prime further down the updates.

Will you be able to compete in kills with a team using boltors? No. You'd struggle far more with the ever increasing health, shield and armour pools.  and if you had a tigris prime, you'd still struggle because although you do more damage per shot, the boltor does more DPS even in close quatres and is more competent at taking out both heavy and light opponents.

So you are saying it is less fun because others can out DPS you with a boltor? But as I said the fun is in playing the game, I mean there are other good weapons for later game such as the Amprex, Dread, Latron Prime, etc, etc. All I am saying is that the game should be not be boring because someone else is using a gun that can deal more damage than you.
