  1. You might be right about that. I don't live here so I'm not really up on complaints about Volt giving unwanted buffs. Sounds like if it is an issue people are already mad about it isn't something the community would go for.

I don't want to rustle, much less touch, anyone's jimmies

  2. Would any want to see ability damage type combinations with Warframes. To clarify I mean that when 2 Warframe combine 2 or more abilities with elemental damage types they can produce the new damage type where they overlap.

For an example Snow Globe and World on Fire could produce AOE blast damage where and when they intersect. Saryn could add viral damage to her weapon and shoot through a Volt electric shield for corrosive. This would only apply to powers only when they interact so something like Snow Globe wouldn't just start doing blast damage to every enemy, only the ones hit by a fireball while frozen by the globe.

There would be a ton of combinations of this idea across the other frames and abilities but I was interested to see what others thought.

While an exalted weapon like this would fit this warframe really well, it would be too similar to pre-existing warframes (specifically Valkyr and possibly the recently revealed Garuda). I think an ability that boosts melee performance and allows unique mechanics would help this warframe stand out more without treading into other warframes’ territory.

    Fair enough. 🙂

  4. That’s nice! If they made just that exactly I’d play it.

    I really like the passive!

Ability 1: yep agreed claws make more sense.

    Ability 2: it’s a radial stun, nice!

Ability 3: I agreed it should be a pack related power and the power is exactly the type Warframe would do. So of course  I’m going to get unrealistic here and say “what about a puncture or slash +100% status chance for melee weapons and non-Sentinel companions in range?” It’s probably OP as hell.

Ability 4: What if we used the primary secondary fire of many guns for the attacks? Then you could have a charge on both buttons and a combo system. Would there be a stack system or timer on the ability or both?

Anyway, great ideas! I hope my comments forward the conversation.

  5. It is similar to other frames but the more it works like the Flash using the speed force as Cell_Purple mentioned the better.

Being able the phase through walls, impart momentum on enemies, or blur out  into speed clones, catch bullets, etc.

  6. Ok! Good question. Just so we are clear I’m not flaming you with this response. It’s really a good question.

So there are certain mechanics that exist on the Plains you don’t see in spacecraft tile sets. This is one of them. Unless you want to see hacking done by Ordis through your Sentinel? I have no issue there but it’s really kind of a different conversation. Anyway, sorry, back to the subject you can fish and fight Eidolons on the open world segments but not in ships, right? People still do it because the rewards are there. So to answer your question this is the kind of mechanic you would add to allow players to fight extremely high level post end game enemies on Cetus bounties or in ghoul outbreak public event style missions with big rewards. Who knows maybe this might appear on other outdoor missions but yep I was thinking it would start out as an open world only thing (Earth and Venus when it gets here). Your question of effectiveness really depends on the mission not if the play mechanic and mission type is universal. Warframe contains plenty of things that are context dependent. I’ll definitely grant you unless we get larger groups of enemies (survival mission numbers) it is less likely to be used.

As far as “sought after” that’s a different challenge and a good one. I really have no idea if people would want to use this. I thought if I posted it here people might tell me. I would guess if the rewards are worth the effort it would be sought after just like everything else in the game.

Hey, thanks again for your input. I know you are looking to get me to think through the idea more fully and I appreciate it.

  7. So I know there are air support charges and I’ve already suggested this idea in other threads so FrostDaKiller had a part in this idea’s creation thanks to his own thread on a new quest idea (which everyone should read). That all being said I think I have an idea on perhaps a more robust concept for Ordis and player interaction. This is for open world maps specifically.

What if we could use Ordis controlling the landing craft to provide close air support? The lander drops in from orbit and, using our arch wing guns, can provide a variety support actions all based on equipped procedures.

Here are a few unordered ideas

    - A gun run or strafing. Give Ordis a vector (defined by 2 points) and he will make a pass. Ordis will attempt to target all enemy who were in the path of the vector when it was defined.

    - Bombardment. Ordis will dive straight down on the target doing AOE damage striking randomly inside of the area. This does the most damage but it does not target any individual

    - Loiter. Ordis will hover above you firing at any enemy you target and providing a shield boost. This provides the least damage as it targets 1 enemy at a time but is the best defensive option. Enemies can get too close for Ordis to target in this mode of attack.

This CAS mode would work like fishing in button layout and that any player using the ability cannot use transference, Warframe abilities or their own weapons. Each attack procedure/mode would need to be earned and manufactured with a limited number of uses. Only 1 or 2 players on each team could use CAS at any given time. Cool down would vary but usually be long enough that it isn’t seriously OP say 90 seconds for every minute on station? CAS would also open up the landing craft to getting its own mods. So mods could be used to extend time on station but this might also extend cool down.

    So, feedback?

  8. @Cell_Purple I love your pack idea! These were some I had for my werewolf idea. Number #2 might need some tweaking but fits with this idea too.

There are so many good powers possible so here are a few I like:

    • Merge physically with your kubrow/Kavat/Charger to form a hulking Warframe Werewolf with immense power and speed.
    • Transference to your Kubro/Kavat/Charger. You gain complete control over your pet and your Warframe becomes a wolf like creature and assumes the role of a companion for your companion (which you now control). This could also be an inversion of the power above where you merge with the pet to be a beast-out four legged Warframe with a different set of attributes. So there is a wolf mode and a wolf-man mode.
    • Summon shadowy clones of all party member companions that run in a pack with you pulling energy from kills and transferring to you. They can be supercharged for damage with void beam.
    • You become a shadowy intangible wolf creature with enhanced speed that is undetectable in shadow. Melee attacks release you from intangibility and allow 2 strikes at 2x damage to an enemy with a chance to stun or poison.
    • Some kind of badass slashing, bitting attack
    • Self-revive of some sort (it’s a werewolf after all)
    • Void beam energy should supercharge the Warframe (it’s energy from the moon, but not really)

    As a general undetailed guide:

ability 1- Single target damage ability

Ability 2- Small CC ability (maybe similar to Nekros’ terrify)

Ability 3- Either solo buff or team buff (e.g. Pack Rally- Amplify allies’ melee damage within 15m)

Ability 4- Transformation ability, this is where you can really conceive something unique, where the concept of a werewolf frame really shines.

Yeah, I like it!! Nice, how about #2 becomes and ambush ability like smoke screen with ash?

The werewolf concept was mediocre tbh, very few stats to go off so its hard to tell if the frame would actually be any good, in my opinion this concept was just lazy.

The ‘Furion’ concept (the picture that ThePhoenixGeo used) was developed by someone else and has incredibly detailed stats, detailed lore & acquisition, and would work very well in the game.

I agree that details are important. Not everyone’s ideas develop at the same pace and not everyone will show up with every detail thought out. I appreciate your focus on the details though. What kind of abilities would you like to see?

and no I will not flame you for posting your ideas! I’m just trying say you seem to be bringing a very specific and critical focus to his idea. Given that you were the first to point it out go further.

  11. If you link this to the landing craft becoming a fully fledged close air support weapon using the Sentinel as its eyes and ears on the ground ...I’m in. It would use your arch wing weapons as it’s own. This would extend the purpose of the Sentinel to something more than a stale “gun with a minimal utility feature”. Pets are for loot Sentinels are for wrecking face at that point.

  12. I think a few people have had this kind of  idea. I have posted my own version as well. Yours is a great idea and its time is due. I even think my lore fits your idea possibly better than my own. Take what we know about Umbra and add clinical lycanthropy and you have a Warframe that thinks it is an animal. So there is a solid in universe reason to have a frame like this. Gameplay wise it would be awesome.

  13. Protean

A Warframe that can temporarily copy abilities of surrounding Warframes. Protean can also assume the form of enemies to hide himself or possess/envelope them and jump from body to body as a particle cloud. Enemies “possessed” are aware they are being controlled but can’t fight back once you jump from them they can attack. You can however use them to attack other enemies to create confusion.

I have a few abilities in no particular order:

    • Copy other party members abilities, this remaps all four powers to the target’s for a short period. Ends when your energy depletes or the timer runs down. Timer can be extended with kills.
    • Mimic the form of enemies or objects. Receiving damaged nullifies the ability. Cannot use their weapons- it’s basically invisibility. You can mimic the ceiling a drop on enemies.
    • Form around one enemy and forcibly control them. Recasting towards another enemy allows body jumping. Enemy that are close enough to touch you can see something is off and will attack. You have full use of their weapons while controlling them.
    • Mimic another weapon from your arsenal?? Or mimic your next load out for the weapon you have??

Perhaps this Warframe is not entirely stable in its physical appearance? I see this as a weaker frame with more energy and speed than armor shields or health.

    Vanagandr, the Fenris Wolf

A beast master Warframe that is basically a werewolf frame. There have been several great werewolf frame ideas suggested so here is mine. The frame’s main concentration is in ambush, buffing and transference with non-sentinel pets. The original human used secretly suffered from clinical lycanthropy (yes, it’s a real condition) on conversion to a Warframe his mind degenerated into that of the animal of his delusions.

Ok, so a bit of lore for this because it is more lore than anything else. The first Tenno to achieve transference with it had been using his powers to attempt to communicate with animals. While trapped in the void he pretended to be the monster of the river Van, a shadowy wolf from stories he heard as a child. When supplies were running short on the ship adults took to raiding the DNA banks to clone out animals for food. The young Tenno saved as many animals as he could but failed to keep them safe from harm. This Tenno did not join the Lotus after being released from his second dream. All of this is important because the relationship and boundaries between the Tenno and Warframe in this case are blurred a bit. This Warframe has a predators mind and is not easily made into a puppet or instrument of the will. An operator must maintain control at all times. Though not as aggressively willful or self-aware as Umbra and less conventionally powerful as Warframes go Vanagandr expects bloodshed from its alpha. It’s animalistic in intellect enough that most of its abilities did not manifest until after its first Operator provided purpose.

There are so many good powers possible so here are a few I like:

    • Merge physically with your kubrow/Kavat/Charger to form a hulking Warframe Werewolf with immense power and speed.
    • Transference to your Kubro/Kavat/Charger. • Void beam energy should supercharge the Warframe (it’s energy from the moon, but not really)

Passive could be that all animals automatically join the players pack.

If you like either of these what powers would you add? What would you take away?
