Not all people are the same. Some people find relying on visual information enough, some of us like having both the visual and the audible information available. For example, Borderlands does have minimap and tons of other visual cues for locating allies, but still prefer playing it with positional audio enabled.

For what comes to games not supporting it, yes, it is still quite rare for games to support things like these, but as one can see from this list here, there are quite some games that support Mumble.

Thats really not a large amount of games, i have more games on my steam than that has names on that list. Besides many of those games are series based games like COD or battlefield, which many run on the same engines  so that list gets alot smaller if you discount those running the same engines. It also drops even future when you remove open source games.

  2. the argument for needing this is you have no mini map, which well you do. and you also have waypoints for marking, markers for downed players and also objective markers. your arguement for needing this is very much "im to lazy to place a marker, damn if only i could hear what direction voices come from" I honestly think its a horrible concept within most games and i think that game developers agree since this is never even talked about in 99.9% of games, nor do 99.9% of player bases ever ask for it.

  3. I can safely 50-60% of the forum posts i see around any patch/void trader/nerf/change/fix are the most memorable as they are all toxic as F. It seriously troubling how much complaining people do about stuff which dont directly benefit them example:

    - Void trader brings Super OP Golden Egg which boosts stats by 2000%

    - Very forum post " void trader never bring new content im a instant gratification player whos played my whole life why dont you ever bring anything that benefits me"

Of course i am joking as DE would patch that egg if it was released which would result in

    - OMG it was totally balanced you didn't need to use the egg if you didnt want why do DE break all the fun things #badDE

that sums up these forums when anything is new or changed lol

Your right, come back to me when you run out of  "instaready" weapons.

Its really not that hard i quit for a year joined back as MR16, hit MR20 in 1 and a half weeks, and i was maxed when i quit so only had new stuff which was made in the past year.

Getting to a high MR in this game honestly takes no time at all, if you stay away from void farm resources / bosses on the star map and all market/clan tech weapons you will hit like MR15-16 in a matters of weeks. its only when it starts with 100k MR points for a upgrade it takes for ever

And yet, the proof is there, consistently DE released new weapons with a higher mastery requirement, the highest so far being MR12, the previous limit was MR8, you can bet that some other special powerful weapon will require MR16 in the future for example.

Yes, but as they make more things in game it becomes easy to get to the mid range mastery's Think when they put in MR8 locks, max was around MR 16. now they put in MR12 max is now MR21. They dont just randomly put a weapon in at max mastery rank. because riots would inturn. They add them in around were the average mastery rank is. so yes MR16 will be a thing but not for awhile

"lock more weapons" but we need more weapons for difrent tiers....
    yea  no too the rest

How many people do you think are MR20-21? under 5%? How would you think the 95% of under MR20's would react if they published 2 new awesome weapons which are totally cool and over powered, but they cant obtain for a very long time....

Your argument makes sense until you release locking content away from people who dont have 800+ hours in the game will result in riots.

Arguments aside, I think the very root problem of MR system is that, it has no difference than a "how much time played" indicator.

But due to the fact that it is displayed in a manner of level bar, it gives an illusion to all players that, it is the progression index.

And to suggest ideas for improving the MR system or related things is actually useless, no matter how great the idea suggested, like OP's.

Asking for an MR overhaul will be rather more constructive.

I think the issue some people are of the belief that being a higher mastery should be rewarding is some way. Completely forgetting that mastery rank is literally just a progression indicator.

    Side note:
People asking for increases to health/shield/energy at higher masterys, what the hell it would be completely broken in all ways and forms. This isn't pokemon, you aren't getting that s**t!

Explain to me why I need to carry MR20 and 21 players then? According with you they should be good, no?

I think he was more arguing that high level planets such as pluto and ceres should be locked away from low MR's. which although i personally disagree with, i still find it silly when i see a MR1 on Ceres, kinda ruins the game. I dont think i started getting carried around until like MR8.

  9. 1) have amazing friends which i always enjoy playing with

    2) Play with literally everything, i have all warframes and weapons. using a random frame and random weapon always makes S#&$ interesting

    3) Hop from different game types often never doing one over and over for one part as it makes the grind real

    4) Make strange builds

    5) change my colour scheme, dunno why but this makes things more interesting for me

    6) do Raids.

The problem Mastery Rank has is a problem that cannot be fixed because it's a problem that lies in any leveling system. Once you hit that higher level, the system becomes irrelevant. The only flaw it has is that levels beyond 12 have little meaning/reason to exist. Personally, I'd rather see new unlockable content at those levels rather than restrictions placed on the content we currently have.

I think the issue with doing that is that well high MR's take alot to get (usually 500+ hours) which if you go locking alot of content behind this kinda turns into a mobile game with 80% of players going well thats nice you have added 10 new guns to the game but i can only play with one... (which i assume would start riots if they released guns locked at MR20)

DE disagrees, seeing as they keep adding MR-locked equipment.

I think DE do this to try and make the game "last longer" as well if you get top tier guns eg soma prime at MR1 then well 95% of all the weapons in the primary group are just well, useless unless you want mastery rank.
