Nerfing frames and weapons only confirm what i have said from long time ago: DE and the devs they don't know what they are doing and they lack of vision.

I guess they should create an R&D dept in that company or a strategic planning.

anyways, it's just a game, the day i get fed up, i can always switch to another one as i did with other games before i switch to warframe.

    Only diamonds last forever

    I am playing Titanfall 2.

What you are calling a "strategy" is actually a tactic... The two aren't the same.

What you and others call "Meta" is just new school for the word strategy. Your description is kinda ironic as meta actually means "self referential". Etymology FTW.

     FTFY

Simply put, merely winning is not the only definition of, or path to, fun.

Meta gaming actually means using info from outside of the game to make decisions, such as laying down a counter for something you see a player always do.

I know the differencebetween a strategy and tactic and meant what I said.

Idunno, I'm still pretty sure their biggest market is adults with money to spend on things, I don't think the Teeno choice was a conscious decision to attract young players, if they can identify with it, sure, whatever. But if this turns into some stupid love triangle I'm out.

People that have to earn their money instead of having mommy and daddy giving it to them tend to be more frugal with it.

I assumed edgy teen meant to encompass older teens, who notoriously hate "kiddy S#&$." If you meant younger teens to pre-teens, I suppose that's accurate

edgy teens would be closer to 13 to 16

Yes, and 18 year olds really love to identify with 12 year olds.

    Who said 18?

Also, Tenno are eternally-young, immensely-powerful (allegedly) immortals, not 12 year olds. It would be like saying that edgy teens don't want to identify with Hellsing's Alucard.

None of it's the point, I don't think the Hulk/Banner Jekyll/Hyde dynamic is an apt corollary to the Teeno at all.  A closer one being, say, Jean Gray/Phoenix in some of the runs where they are all teenagers, except age her down to pre-teen and all of the annoying stuff that comes with that, like her being a total tool to all of her friends.  (See: Jean Grey in All-New X-Men)

Pretty much everyone likes to hate on children in genre fiction, especially magical children, and teenagers aren't an exception, and I'd wager "edgy-teens" are in the majority in wanting to remove their Teeno from the game. The decision for the protagonists wasn't made for them.

Nah, they want to have someone they can identify with, and eventually leading to power-fulfillment.

Take Pong as an example.  There isn't really a meta that can be used for that game.

False. If I play with you repeatedly, and notice that you tend to leave your paddle near the top of the screen, then I will start sending the ball to the bottom of your screen as much as possible. That is meta.

Is buying frame slots really an issue, even for free players?

Yes, especially for players just starting out, even more so if they want to avoid the trade channel. We don't have anything like an Auction House.

So, are you saying META simply caters to the lowest common denominator?

No, I am saying the Meta is about what works best.

why would It be a good idea to not pick a very good Oberon user over a subpar Meta frame user?

Because I have never met him before and don't know if he is good or not, and if he is good then he would still be more effective as a Nova.

I'm an Old School Gamer and I say screw "meta".

Meta gaming has been around forever.

    3 minutes ago, DatDarkOne said:

can that meta frame still be considered to be meta?

Yes, just because a frame is the most efficient at performing a task doesn't mean the player is good.

Sadly as much as I like Zeph, I have to agree simply because Banshee has a more usable/ user friendly kit. Zeph needs a better kit.

Don't worry. I have a soft spot for Volt myself and wish he was better too.

their Banshee could outperform my Zephyr.

That's true though. I have seen Banshees shut down entire maps like Xini. Zeph is just a dime store frost. Zeph's only real use is the Tonkor exploit.

No one has really asked you to prove anything, all you're doing is trying to justify that Oberon should be in the meta, even if the meta disagrees. Again no one cares what you can do with Oberon. The idea is that whatever he can do, there is always a better frame that can fill that slot, aka the meta problem.

    QFT, again . . .

than what's the point of having any other frames?

I am going to assume you mean "then," in which case, the solution is finding them other roles or offering side-grades.

The problem is Oberon. He offers nothing to the meta, when he should be working as a side grade to Blessing Trinity,

An ult scaling infinitely is perfectly reasonable.

Sometimes it annoys me how underrated Warframe is, it's a hidden gem of a game. Usually when I tell people I play it they'll say "Oh I think I've heard that name" or just haven't heard of it at all. At times I want everyone to know about this game and to see major gaming websites or Youtube Channels talking and referring to it. Then again I rather enjoy the small community, and the hidden gem aspect kinda makes Warframe feel more special. Kinda like you're part of some secret club in a way. So what do you guys think? Would you enjoy Warframe more of it was popular as other Triple A games? Or is it's popularity fine where it is?

It lacks anything to make it appeal to the mainstream. It is literally just a game about farming for loot then grinding that loot. We may like that, but most people don't.

Let's not bring Ash into this...

IMO, Simulor is a perfect candidate for a CC weapon (stuns, procs, but meh damage). The problem is that a CC weapon would be sh!t in Warframe's current state. Hopefully a Damage 3.0 could make room for CC weapons, but at this point it is all about DPS. A "rework" to S. Simulor would be an objective nerf, no way around it.

I also find it pretty funny how when Simulor came out everyone agreed it was S#&$... Then S. Simulor happened.

Why not give it good damage, CC, but a limit on the number of active orbs and a charge time for each orb?

Ivara and Nyx.  Razorwing Titania and Rhino.  Both of which I've done.  Quite successfully too.  I've found many interesting combinations outside of the established meta during PuGs.

And I have run Nova, solo, without powers. It doesn't make it efficient or a good idea.

I am not saying you can't play whatever you want. I am just saying that it is inefficient, which is what the entire argument is about.
