  1. 1º Statement:

*Some people like how iron skin looks, some people dont, others dont care. if you like its current look, or, if you dont care, pay no atention to this topic: it will not affect you in any way.

    2º Statement:

*The value of a cosmetic is directly related to how its look works with the warframe's visual.

    3º Statement:

*Rhino's Iron Skin's default visual (the one from its original skin) completly covers the frame with a molten metal texture.

    -----

Based on my statements, i draft the following conclusion:

Any Rhino's  skin (Except Palatine) are worthless to purchare (In my opinion), due to the fact that iron skin will cover all its details. Therefore i ask devs for a way to turn of Iron Skins visual.

Obs.: I know Palatine skin allows me to use energy color to define Iron skin visual and, if i choose a dark color it becomes invisible; but this is not the point of this topic: i dont want a workaround, i ask for a general solution. So i can buy other skins beside Palatine and enjoy their visuals.

Sugestion: Implement a check box on apparence section. [X] Enable Iron Skin visual. this way everyone one gets happy; people that like its look will still have it, people that dont- will be able to turn it off.

Thanks in advance for the atention, please read my statements before coment.

Maybe they'll start selling optional graphics packs 🙂

This is the time for they to see this topic, with this rhino prime coming back form the vault. Imagine the sales boost when they announce:

Hotfix: you now have the option to toggle iron skin's visual on rhino. just by puting rhinos name on the panel will work as sales boost, easy fix easy advertise. and i get to look at the skin i bought during missions... :satisfied:

What I don't understand is why you are posting this here. Dev's are more likely to look in other forum hubs like "feedback" compared to this.

And while I understand your point, the reason why people bring up invis frames is to show you that rhino is not special in this regard. Especially when alot of frames have similar uncontrolable effects, more uncontrolable than rhino, like nidus 3, loki 2, ash 2, ivara 3, octavia 3 etc. People don't care, because they at least know what they look like. Hell, try fashion framing equinox. Because you're only going to see default rarely, and not gonna see your other half.

Sorry, I just went on a rant. But my personal solution? Don't make it a toggle iron skin, make it toggle warframe powers on frames.

     its on feedback alrdy

this is where topic was created:

Home   ---   Feedback   ----   Feedback Categories    ----  Art, Animation, & UI    ----  Why buy Rhino visuals, if iron skin look will mess it all up ?

  4. Some of you are missing the point and changing the subject.... let me clarify the idea.

    Problem = { Blade of the Lotus cost money.  ---> blade of the lotus changes the visual of your frame ---> i cant see the changes most of the time, cause i need to use iron skin.}

    Possible solutions

    {

Possible solution 1 = Allow me to toggle iron skin visual

Possible solution 2 = Use energy color to control iron skin look (Just like on rhinos palatine skin)

Statement.: Both possible solutions do not affect players that like the way things are now, therefore they are aditions to the game not replacements

    Why im clarifying the idea:

People talking about invisble frames: this post is about rhinos skins and hability; if you have a problem with not see your skin on your Invible frame make your own topic, do not use sutch thing as a argument to defeat the possible solutions people are tryng to come up with here, this is a dush move and, as i said on the above statement, solutions will not replace but add options. Therefore there is no need to bring stuff sutch as:

        -habilitys that polute the screen

-people that block your vision by standing in front of you,

-invisible frames and how i should not complain about iron skin cause i can at least see my frame

If you have a problem with the above, i strongly sugest you creat a topic.

If you do not agree with giving players options (sutch as toggle iron skin), dont worry, i do not intend in take away the melted led look. If what i sugest reach devs ears, nothing will change for you and the other who like the visual the way it is.

In other words, there is no reason for you to protest here. Again... nothing will affect you. All i wnat is the option of toggle that visual off so i can enjoy the skin i spent my money on.

Fashion, a completely illogical and purely subjective, personal taste related topic connected to dressing or clothing yourself or another, even a digital avatar, that is done for multiple reasons, including but not limited to, advertising, achieving visual aesthetic for an audience or personal preference. Fashion is neither an absolute, nor is it something that requires external viewpoints to have. Fashion can be good or bad, but, like Art, it just exists as itself.

Applying an absolute like 'You're buying a visual, it's there to be seen' is the illogical part of this, because you do not have to be seen to have fashion. Even by yourself, when it comes to that.

Far from me applying an absolute, I'm applying the absence of absolutes, there is no right answer here, nor are there any wrong ones. It just... is.

Anyone applying their own point of view as the reason that Fashion Frame exists, or that something as limited and short-sighted as 'being seen' is the absolute function of Fashion, clearly does not understand what Fashion is.

Thus, if buying an item and equipping it is given worth solely by others viewing it, relying purely upon those others for its value? That's where you have an unhealthy relationship with Fashion Frame.

First of all, you worte that "visual, it's there to be seenis illogical...that nonsence alone is enough for me to rest my case and ignore the rest of your text. Its the same as say that water making things wet is illogical... but hey, lets keep going.

"... personal taste related topic..." if its personal, then how do you affirm "Anyone doing it for somebody else has an unhealthy relationship" ? do you hapen to know everybody elses reasons ?  didnt think so...

"...there is no right answer here..."  "right" is as relative as the definition of "unhealthy" in this case, and yet, here you are talking about "unhealthy relationship".

"short-sighted as 'being seen'". LOL... poor choice of words

You say that "equipping it is given worth solely by others viewing it, relying purely upon those others for its value?" is when you have a "unhealthy relationship".. Again... who are you to say whats unhealthy ?

Was i clear in points out your logic flaws ?

Have you noticed your contradictions ?

And most important...if the theme of this topic is, sujective, unimportant, or indiferent for you... Why are you still here ?

Honestly, Rhino's not even the worst offender. Look at Mirage's 3rd, makes you look like blue bubblegum that some chewed and spit out. Mirage is one of my favorite fashion frames, but the 3rd just completely ruins the look. Maybe they could have an option to remove ability effects or just reduce it to something like how Mesa's 3rd looks or just an outline of your warframe with your energy color.

agreed, they gota rise transparency on the copyes.... or again, give you a option to turn it off....

    Nice job

    9c9.gif

When you buy cosmetics in a game where you have visual effects that are fully capable of obscuring your character model, whether that's invisibility, a coat of metallics, the glowing/cloudy effects of Eclipse etc., just having those nice customisations is fine. If you actually want to show them off, there are options to do that, and anybody actually interested in your fashion frame will just look at your Profile to see it while you're not running around.

In four years I've played, and the two years I've enjoyed fashion-frame, the reason I do it is for me, not for any of the rest of you. Even if I'm invisible, I know that stuff is there.

Anyone doing it for somebody else has an unhealthy relationship with fashion frame.

"Anyone doing it for somebody else has an unhealthy relationship with fashion frame." Again, this is your opinion. Cant you see youre holding your opinion as a absolute truth ?

You didnt got the point ?

Here is the pointlet me help you out: When you buy a skin you buy a visual. Its suposed to be seen. if you cant see it, defeats the purpouse.

Visual - adjective  -  US  /ˈvɪʒ·u·əl/ -  relative to seeing
    Straight from the dictionary

If me showing off is a problem for you, then you have a "unhealthy relationship" with logic.

As far as I know, it's the same reason that people buy skins for Loki and Ivara despite remaining invisible for the entire time.

Most of these are not meant to be in-game improvements, but more... I have this cool skin, anyone that actually sees me will know it's that skin and that I have it.

If you go into anywhere that isn't the main game, like Relays, Dojos, Maroo's, or (by far the most important ones) the cinematic quests, you then get to show it off. But in game it's more important to be focussed on what you're doing than how you look while doing it.

"As far as I know, it's the same reason that people buy skins for Loki and Ivara despite remaining invisible for the entire time." Ivara ok... but you telling me people cant make disarm lock anymore ? besides, its not the same reason. one thing is to go invisible, the other is to get covered in molten let.

"If you go into anywhere that isn't the main game" lol;;;;. If you rly thinks like that. Lets put warnings on the skins then,  to let players know they are not supose to be looked upon during the "Main game". But jokes asside, do you rly think like that ? you rly defend the point that i should not care if i cant see the skin i payed money for during a mission ? rly ? if yes dont bother with this topic, all is well.

"in game it's more important to be focussed on what you're doing than how you look while doing it." why not do both at once ? games to hard ? whats "important " for you may not be the same to others, i see no problem in look at other plaeyrs skins when im leveling stuff on Sedna's defence.

I think it's safe to say that everyone agrees that it would be better if what OP suggested could be implemented. But somehow, people on the forums still oppose each other.

How about making it a stripe that swipes vertically across your warframe. Up and down. You'd see that it's active. Your squad mates would see that it's active. And you'd still get to show your pretty colors. Or make it into a steel-looking net wrapped around the warframe. Or just a buff indicator under the feet or above the head.

But I think the best would be if Iron Skin would remain as a skin, but you could adjust its transparency over primary/secondary/tertiary colors.

These are just a few potential solutions.

As long as i can adjust transparency to 100% , i totaly agree with that solution. Ive sugested the toggle check box cause this way people that like the way it is would still be happy.

i dont use rhino but i sympathize with you guys
agreed that we could have more options regarding warframe coloring,
i always wanted to change oberon's Hallowed Ground(grass) color as it take its coloring from the Warframe Accent Color.
but those aren't important fixes compared to everything else

But here is the thing, on rhinos case ive spent money on it. When you put money into it becomes ' important '. Its like get scammed, you buy a skin you will only be able to apreciate outside missions or, if you decide not to use your number 2 skill, wich puts you in a disadvantage. DE is a company; when it comes to transactions, it matters.

  11. 5 hours ago, TrinXT said:

I didn't miss your point. Your point is just bad. They shouldn't have to pick between playing the game or admiring their aesthetics.

Exactly... when you BUY a visual, there is no sutch thing as "youres supose to look at it outside combat..."  We need a way to turn of iron skin's visual. in fact its sutch a simple idea im trying to pass here on this topic, i dont get how people manage to disagree.   Put a "toggle iron skin visual" check box on rhinos apparence's tab and thats it... everyone gets happy

  12. I dont understand why this case never been adressed before. Skins cost money (or plat, that can be bought with money if you prefer not to trade on that amazing and organizaed chat). when iron skin messes the look of it, it discourage some player form buying it. I believe that giving the player a option to toggle iron skin visual would help not only the guy who bought it but also the the guy who made the skin (tennogen folks) and, the company (cause there would be more people buying it).

  13. 9 hours ago, dodyouserious said:

i was hoping the tennogen would use the same iron skin as the palatine kinda regret buying since im in missions most of the time iron skin is a must unless youre camping in volts shield

Youre right, Palatine use energy color for iron skin. if devs could make that the default for the other skins that would solve the problem. Ive bought the 'Bade of the lotus' skin and its amazing.... when i can see it.

  14. I just bought another Rhino skin, This one a TennoGen. It'samazing and, as i expected, i lost about 20 min just customizing that new amazing look..
As soon as I got into a mission and used Iron skin, all the cool looking was gone.

Now, now... I understand some people are ok with looking like a ooze of melted led but, what's the point of spend money into a new visual if that visual will be rendered meaningless as soon as I use one of the core abilities of the frame?

Please, let me turn of the visual effect of Rhino's Iron skin and still keep its benefits. I know there are similar posts about this but, do not archive this topic so quick O might moderator.

Heed my humble call and let devs know of my plea... i beg of you.

    Thanks in advance

    -Sincerely BoB Jones.
