  1. I would like to know if any of you have done some tabletop adaptation of Warframe, in form of board or roleplaying game (or any other)

I have personally had some sessions with friends adapting Star Wars: Imperial Assault and it worked quite well

I have tried too to make a roleplaying session adapting some of the 40K rpg systems, by lack of time, energy, etc it was not possible

  3. Do you know if DE has ever planned to expand the Warframe universe to other media?

We have some light comics, youtube animation videos and sale figures, but those are no more that little marketing moves.

Have there been any mention on intentions on releasing something like a card, miniature or tabletop rpg game? Or any novelization?

I personally would love to explore the Warframe universe in more ways than the videogame.

And do it on more points of view than the Tenno. For me is like exploring the 40K universe only through space marine lenses.

  4. I did a little of that with some friends. What we used as map was the scenario pieces from the game Star Wars; Imperial Assault.

    Star-Wars-Imperial-Assault-ASALTO-IMPERI

Does this kind of map fit your needs?

And if you don't want to spend 100 bucks, there should be photos, scans or something online that you can use.

  5. Before all the time I have played Warframe I started to think some time ago, how would look Teshin, New Loka´s leader or any other character whose head is covered whitoud hat, helm, hood or any thing that they wear on their heads.

But some time later, few days ago, I realisated, what if any of them has hair?

All the characters whose head I have been able to see are clearly bold, and I haven´t been able to see any hair in the game. Human, of course. Kubrows have clearly a lot of it.

That have made me think about the evolution of humanity in the Warframe´s universe. Will we become totally hairless in a distant future? Have survive some trace on human hair in these universe? Will Simarys have a secret chamber keeping the last human hair? There still had human hair in the Orokin Empire?

I don´t know. There is any more questions, or answers, that you have about our hair?

  6. I would like overall to explode his Orokin and wanderer past  before the fall and his possible relation with Teshin.

I´m very curious to with the figure of Teshin, for me the one that trained the Tenno in the begining like he does today.

  7. First, sorry if my english is a little weird, I have a good domain of it, but it isn´t my native language.

Second, I´m not sure if this post should go here or in the fan section. I think this would be the best place for it, but I have no problem if it has to go in another.

I´m writting this because I like a lot the Stalker, not only the role that he plays now in the game, but all the potential that he has behind, and after seeing how stuck has he become today with the need of some rework.

After a time learning the lore of warframe I have discovered a lot of interesting things, but I have finished with a lot of doubts, and ideas. Watching the stalker... Yes, he hates us, but he don´t act only moved by a blind rage and vengeance, but a deep sense of justice. You commit crimes, you pay, and then he leaves you in peace. And is by this, and other reasons, that I propose that.

The idea the that I have had implies not only a quest, but the introduction of a new mechanic and overall some work over the lore of the game.

I propose a new quest, The Lair of the Stalker, that would become avaiable after having in the players arsenal (or having had) the three weapons of the Stalker.

That could start receiving a message from him, a different one this time. "You have proven to be a hard prize, (player´s name). I give you an option. To finish this for ever. Come to my sanctuary, and face me one last time.", and with the message comes the quest.

I have to say that I think that this should be an one-player adventure. The Stalker has invited YOU, and because of that the quest would perform better in a more personal way.

Here I don´t have thought about any specific missions, but I think that there should be one at least with a "fake" location until the final one.

Why "fake"? I see it in this way. When you accept the quest, the stalker personally talks to you, giving you the location of his sanctuary(1). In this, or these, mission he brings you to another place, but not for anything. These missions should happen in the last ruins of the Orokin Empire. Remember that the Stalker is one of the last Orokin, and he was there when the Tenno slaughtered the Orokin leaders.

An obvious place would be Terminus, where the betray happened. In these missions he should talk you about all that was and was lost. And what is now. If the place is under grinner domain he could say "And now is plagued by these decaying lunatics", or by the corpus "And now is being spoiled by these greedy scumm"(2).

The thing is that he wants to make clear to you why is he hunting you and your kind. One of the last things that he could say in theses missions could be "Do you understand the magnitude of your crimes, (player name)?"

And then you arrive to the right place, surely in the void. I think it should be a dark and weird place, a tower flooded with shadows, maybe his own dojo. Why? I like to think that the Stalker´s warframe is the shadow one. Yeah, it´s indubitable that he is "a Tenno", even if he doesn´t consider himself one. And the place should reflect that, including an extension of Dispel that negates or nerfs your powers.

The fight itself could happen in some ways. Various minor fights and a final great one. Only against him or some kind of minions. The minions being some kind of shadow entities or his own breed of kubrows. Maybe some trials... This part have many options.

But go to the key one, the definitive one, the one proposed to you in the message. He faces you with all that he has(3), and the fight should be as hard as epic. A fact about the stalker and you is that he has hundreds of years of experience more than you, and is something that I don´t see reflected in the game due to his poor AI and lack of tactics or original powers.

Other thing that should have this fight is some cinematics, a presentation and a closing one. Why? The Stalker is stronger than you (Steven Universe apart), and when you “win” then should start the cinematic where, in fact, you cannot, and he defeats you.

You are on the floor, defenseless, and he is ready to put an end to your life. Remember what he said, “one last time”. No more slap and you go free but hurt. Yeah, butthurt, I have thought it. I would like that this cinematic represented it.

And then Teshin arrives. Why him? Remeber again, one of the last Orokin. If I´m not wrong, Thesin and the Stalker are the last Orokin alive, although we could see more in the future. Another point, what makes Teshin here? I see it in this way. As one of the last Orokin, I think he would deposit his reliance on him, maybe even being trained by him before becoming “a Tenno”. Because of that he could know where his lair is(4).

Then they talk, probably while fighting. Yeah, it would be more logic without that, but I want to see some action, and of what Teshin is capable when he unsheathe his sword. The conversation resumed:

Stalker: Why you defend them? They are betrayers! Criminals!

Teshin: No, they don´t. They where deceived by the Lotus.

S: I know that, but you cannot open a door that isn´t firmly closed.

T: There is something that you don´t know.

    S: What?

    T: She is a Sentient.

Some seconds of silence, and the end of the fight, if there is one.

T: She say that she is no longer one of them, but with her truth and lie is ever unclear.

At this point the Stalker doesn´t want to fight more, and Teshin leaves the place with you. But the Stalker has something more to say. “We will have a talk, (player name). Soon.”

The reward? To be alive, isn´t it enough for you? Appart of that, the Stalker warframe, if it were, could be the reward. Or the possibility of getting it. I don´t know. My point for that quest is the potential of lore that it has.

But more than that, it could be a good introduction to a new game mode, that I will comment in another post. This has become so long.

Hoping that you like the idea.

    (1) Here could appear Teshin too warning you about this a trap. Yeah, it´s obvious, but his appearance here have a reason.

    (2) I don´t know what the Stalker thinks about the Grineer and the Corpus, but I think he should not have a very good opinion.

    (3) It would be awesome if he used the prime version of his gear for this fight. Remember that he comes from the time that things were developed.

    (4) Remember the point 1? That would be a good reason for his appearance in the precise moment, he knew you where going to a trap.

  8. Ah, ok. Sorry, TheBrsrKr, I thougth you were asking about mi second commentary.

Well, being specific with the sniper mood, it will be useless in some scenarios. Corridors, for example.

But there are others, for me the best in that case is the huge corpus defense/interception place, where the distance you can shoot is huge.

Imagine a lot of snipers shooting constantly at you from everywhere instead of running until they at 50 meters or whatever the range they have until they start to shoot at you.

Same with nearly every unit that is not melee. Sometimes the distance the enemy aproach to you before start shooting is ludicrously short.

And because things like that is that I think the enemy´s attitude could be improved without a major rework of the AI.

Yeah, the still will die at dozens against us, because we are the Tenno, but I want to see that at least make their best effort to defeat us, to win, instead of simply run to the slaughterhouse.

  9. Well, when you develop a new weapon is because you are searching new ways to get over your enemies. You spend a lot of time and resources to make that weapon.

Because of that is stupid to simply don´t use it when you have the weapon ready to use. It can happen that the weapon is a failure and the development has been abandoned, but we are actually talking about some of the weapons of the games, weapons that have prooved to be very good doing their job.

For us, the player, would be a greater and more varied challenge, watching with fear the light of the Opticor seeking us before the true shoot comes, or forcing us to be avoiding the Penta grenades that so much damage have done to us in our own hands.

More than that, that would give me a greater sensation that they are actively trying to defeat us, the Tenno, instead of simply send more and more troops to get slaugthered at our hands.

Whatch it in that way, in each raid the Tenno do in enemy installations, a cell of 1-4 of them use to kill hundreds of soldiers, probably without casualities and probably using the weapons that I have mentioned. If you were the commander of these soldiers, what would yo thougth about that? Wouldn´t you consider that something has to be done to fix that?

  10. Another thing is about their weaponry. Yeah, it´s design, not AI, I know. The thing is while some of the most powerful weapons of the game are Grinner/Corpus design, they don´t use them at all.

Well, we could say that they are prototypes. They are expensive and they still need some testing. But, God, I think the Tenno have tested them more than enough.

I would like to see some Grinner soldiers with the Khom or the Hek, or some Corpus ones with the Penta or the Opticor.

  11. First of all, sorry if my english sounds weird, it isn´t my native language.

I don´t know you, but I think that the enemy armies (corpus and grineer) doesn´t act totally as one.

I know, it´s not easy to program AIs, and the grineer have the excuse of attacking with the power of their sheer numbers.

But there is a kind of soldier that I see acting totally as it shouldn´t, the sharpshooters.

Balistas and sniper crewmen come running to us with the other troops, when they should wait on high and advantegeous positions for a good shot.

And there are the two things that should help to that. First, spamming  them on these positions. The new parkour and the syndicate medallions have shown me the amount of the high and secret places that the maps have and the lack of use that DE make of them. Damn, you have put a lol off effort making them. Take advantage of that.

And second, and AI more focused on waiting int a position until having the enemy on sight. That should make these sharpshooter as annoying, and maybe deadlier, than the ones of the most shooters.

Antoher thing, the Ramparts. They can be very dangerous when grineer use them. If only they used more than 1/10 of them...

And these are my ideas to make our enemies a little more competent, or disciplined.

  12. It is no easy to resolve the Jedi/Sith vs Tenno thing.

At swordplay I see both of them quite equal, maybe a little better the Star Wars ones. Same with the acrobatics, both are awesome at that, each one with their own tricks.

Talking about the arsenal, well, the ligthsaber is a dreamt weapon for nearly all of us, but the Tenno have a very wide arsenal to face them. Force users can make a good use of other weapons if they want, but they use to fight solely with the ligthsaber.

They can stop bullets, I know, but other weapons like Ignis, Embolist and the shotguns can be a big problem for them.

Talking about powers, both have very good options, maybe the Tenno ones thougher. They have more options, but condinitioned too, because each frame have their 4 own. Said that, there will be more effective frames than others to face a Jedi/Sith. These ones have from their part more versatility, having a wide range of force powers that they have learnt.

But for me the crucial part is the durability. The Tenno have shields and an armor made of an unknown material in adittion to powers to enhace them. On the other side Jedi and Sith don´t use to wear any kind of armor. Well, they though it better on the old republic times. The thing is that for a Jedi/Sith a mistake can be fatal, while the Tenno can allow themselves to make some with less risk.

There are things too hard to know like the interactions between the different Warframe materials and the lightsabers. In the Star Wars universe there material like the mandalorian steel and the cortosis that can stop and even defuse them.

A good way to compare that would be the games Jedi Knight and Jedi Academy, with a similar gameplay. I liked them a lot. I like a lot the Jedi/Sith too, but I think the Tenno would have some advantage figthing against them. Talking about skill and power, both universes have a wide range from legends to rookies, in the Warframe case reflected on us, the players.

  13. Yes, Mesa was "puppeted", but that´s the point. Couldn´t only Tenno make use of the warframes? Is so easy to the infestation to use one as putting a piece of infested meat inside? Well, I imagine it wasn´t so easy as that, but if Alad V could do that one time we could have soon to face more puppeted warframes.

And yes, the corpus have the Zanuka, but I would like to know more about it before making an opinion.

Warframes can´t be infested because they were made with the Technocyte. At least is that I think. But maybe rewritten. Baphomet´s frame looks very infested (I don´t know if at now Baphomet´s is the frame or the Tenno, could someone make me clear?), maybe because is the "corrupted" version of the frame.

  14. But there are separate hives or all of the form part of the big one?

I see Alad more dominated by infestation than dominating it, and with that I see the infestation choosing him more as developer more than as leader.

He have increased the infestation arsenal in a very "pain in the &#!" way.

Talking about that, what about infestation using warframes? You know, the Mesa in Patient Zero.

    Soon a Mutalist Zanuka...

  15. Infested christmas, everybody!!!

The thing of Baphomet makes me think about... Corrupted Warframes. like the prime versions, but corrupted.

As much as Baphomet was a Tenno bracing the infestation "infesting" his frame in the procces, there could be corrupted versions of other frames.

In-game talking they could be frames with some boosted stats while others decreased. Or, in a new way, with some corrupted mod obligation, some like half of the mod capcacity sholud be for corrupted mods.

Thinking too about the infestation-bracing Syndicate, could be working for them the way to obtain these cool stuff.

  16. An awesome concept your Baphomet!

You know? The relationship between the Insfestation, the Technocyte and the Tenno remembers me Tekkaman Blade.

Appart from that, the idea of a Tenno, not being infected, because they were infected too with the technocyte, but falling to the infestation, or its hive mind of whatever is it, appart from being very cool, have its own connotations.

First of all, like a Tenno, he probably could what Grinner, Corpus and current Infested cannot do, chase the Tenno to their refugees. Think about that, the Tenno, us, only are in danger when they go out to a mission. Yeah, and while sleeping in a lost cryocapsule.

Thinking about that I have imagined...

    Lotus:

Tenno, Alad V goes behind something I though lost. Something that should remain lost.

One of the Tenno that fall to the Infestation sleeps in some place. A place about Alad has some hints.

We need to stop him, Tenno.

For me it would be cool a campaign to impede his awaken, like with the Fomore. And it would be more cool the participacion of some of the characters in that campaign, overall the Stalker, well helping you, or acting against you.

I say this because I don´t know how exactly he thinks. He hate you but not enough to understand the danger that Baphomet is for the system? Or F*** you, the hate for the Tenno is all that he have, so he will help Alad to find and awake him.

And the final part of the campign should be a fight against the awaken Baphomet before, despite all the efforts, having failed to prevent his awakening.
