  1. Going off my own experience here.

I use Dread because of the high slash damage potential. Slash damage just has better scaling in terms of proc damage in my opinion. Especially if you have Dread built for crit damage and chance, add Viral element, hunter munitions for the additional slash proc, AND vigilante armaments for the chance to up your crit chance (from Yellow to Orange or Orange to Red)

For me, my Dread will hit with Viral and cut health by half, and the high crit slash procs will kick in dealing a huge percentage of bleed damage, since that can scale.

I'm sure Paris Prime can do the same in a way, I just prefer the reliability of slash procs you get from Dread more personally.

  2. I'll go out on a whim and say that getting Umbra while progressing the story might be why this isn't replayable yet. I assume they haven't worked out how to make it completely replayable without some of the bigger plot points

Having to initially craft Umbra where he attacks the Operator and escapes the Orbiter. Also receiving Umbra after the final confrontation with him with his sword

  3. Been watching this awhile so I suppose I'll chime in;

I.. don't see anything wrong with the Founders wanting Excal P's look on Umbra. I also don't see how it would impact any of the non Founders.

They are asking for a skin for Umbra of Excal P, they are not asking for something groundbreaking and exclusive.

Umbra is inherently better than Prime, that's why they want to use the skins.

If anyone could give valid reasons as to why this would be bad for us non Founders as a whole, I'm willing to hear it. As it stands, if its just a skin, who cares? Let them have it.

They get constantly harassed as it is just for being Founders. It's adding insult to injury by trying to argue they shouldn't be able to use Excal P's look as an Umbra skin.

Is it possible to get a payment system that i can pay cash to avoid playing on POE and just get access to loot on that mode for a small fee, i really hate that game mode, to the point that i uninstalled the game, anything to avoid that game mode, and enjoy the other content, will be a wish come true

A majority of PoE "can" be ignored (Though I don't recommend it), as a lot of the resources, and items there outside Operator Amps, are tied strictly to PoE with little impact on anything beyond it. For me, PoE is a side locale where I can make custom melee weapons and get better Amps, and that's it.

Outside of those, you can still run everything without ever touching PoE but eventually (especially while moving through the story) you may have to dabble in a bit of PoE, but even then, the Mote Amp is sufficient enough to do story and star chart content.

  5. Welcome to Warframe!

Good to hear you've had good experiences so far, hopefully those continue for your stay with us.

If you ever need more help always try to find a GOTL (Guide of the Lotus) player in relays. They are great helpers when you don't have others available to guide you along!

Seriously disable region chat, you can thank us later.

  6. Hey just a heads up, I would throw a spoiler tag on your title just to be courteous to console players and others who haven't gotten to play the story. (Some of your questions are close to developments in the quest)

That aside, my mind has been running over the possibilities of how the plot moves from that cliffhanger. I have a lot of questions, but the quest did, at least for me, answer many as well in relation to the Warframes and about them.

As long as I can be satisfied in fighting Hunhow and Ballas and putting an long time old foe six feet under, then I'll be happy.

Of course, you are right. However, I think more than wanting Excalibur to be good at everything, I think the PoE update just highlighted how lackluster Exalted Blade can be to use in larger areas. I mean, forget the Plains, the ability feels and looks kinda silly even in larger rooms in our older tile sets.

I just want the ability too feel and look as good as it should. DE has shown that they really can make some impactful frames and abilities that give really great feedback. I just don't think this is the case with Exalted Blade. The waves are too static looking and slow moving. It might sound picky and silly to some, but I really think it would add much to the feel of Excalibur if the blade waves were sped up.

As an Excal lover, I'd like to offer an additional point of view.

Initially, I agreed with you, but I began to think about other frames with Exalted weapons.

Let's take Valkyr, as her Hysteria has no wave slashes, and no means of CC/Gap Closing outside of Rip Line. It is very well possible of course, to Rip Line enemies to you to finish off with Hysteria, but I think by then, You're better off using Excalibur in that scenario. (Personal opinion, don't shoot me Valkyr mains D:)

Wukong also has this problem but his staff has wider range to play with, but Ivara has Artemis Bow and succeeds as long range exalted play.

I will agree 100% on the wave slashes being slower than damn molasses. Seriously, slap Primed Fury and Berserker on your exalted blade and you begin to swing faster than your blades can travel, almost until they stack onto each other. They shouldn't be this slow. And yeah, it looks hilarious watching someone spamming EB in the Plains and watching the waves crawl through the air.

My point is, not every frame with an exalted weapon will triumph in the Plains, but each frame with an exalted weapon has a situational purpose where they can outclass each other, I like where he is, but yes that wave speed needs to go up big time!

  8. Microtransactions (and more so Loot Boxes) are generally hated by a majority in a premium game (meaning one you pay for up front). Which is understandable, and I do agree that Warframe does it well compared to Publishers.

But it pays to remember that Warframe is F2P and in order to survive they need a successful market. Gimmicky ones in premium games can get by being shoddy because sales will still make millions by themselves.

It's this day and age that I am thankful that Warframe is free, DE has done an incredible job supporting a game that was said to fail over many years. I don't want to imagine this game, in the hands of Activision, or EA, because I feel more than half of what's in it wouldn't be there.

You don't buy direct power with this game, you pay to progress faster, pay to hold more of something, or pay to look pretty. (However you can trade for platinum, so even then this isn't impacting players progression like some new players seem to believe initially)

Could always buy more boxes to get good cards to get more power in some games however, and that's considered "fair".

Thank both for the replies. A quick look at the wiki and it's stated as 5th highest shotgun dmg. I have santi/prime tigris prime. Should I just just use those or have they been hit by a nerf hammer as well?

    No they are still good.

But Arca Plasmor is glorious :3

  10. For buffs and debuffs it would be nice to just have a quick drop down or something you can map to the controls to pull up a list of active effects, something similar to the Quick Mission Progress button, which you can hold to quickly view affinity and loot and stats without pausing.

For actual boosters, something a little more noticeable than a fading tiny pop up in the corner of your HUD in the Liset would be lovely

Buff Panthera? It just recently got buffed in Update 21. It's an insane and deadly weapon now, are you sure you're using your mods correctly and a good build on it? It can easily destroy enemies.

This, try rebuilding its mod set up if its not to your liking. Its recent buff made it a powerhouse. I have a sub par riven for mine and I can still happily use it to shred high level enemies.

Panthera pre-buff? Oh man that thing was traaaaaash. Now? Not so much.

Ok maybe 35 max ammo would be enough since is hard hiting weapon

But can use bow ammo mutation mod if u want more ammo to ocupy 1 mod slot to not make it too op

That or Carrier's Ammo Case to boost max and have mutation.

Looks like it would perform extremely well in the Plains. (Especially with Ivara's Navigator on that Secondary mode, holy) However my main concern would be distance in corridors, as it wouldn't allow the weapon to reach its peak power in smaller tiles in our normal mission runs. And as for the 200 Puncture buff on direct hits under 10m, it seems like the procs give it a better utility buff under its peak range than when in large areas.

That's my only thought on it as far as overall versatility. But I like it! Props to Secondary be more status focused. Long live status :D

  13. Crit and Status have their own uses depending on the weapon you use. Critical builds can get you high numbers which can put a real hurt on enemies, and most of the time, you can do fine with it. As others have stated however, Status plays a more important role when enemy armor scales to ridiculous amounts resulting in enemies with EHP (Effective HP) in the millions potentially, because to actually kill something, you need to strip armor, or shields, or half that giant health pool, or slow, or whatever you need to mitigate these units.

I always find Crit based weapons are a lot of fun to use, especially seeing the multicolored damage numbers, and a frame like Harrow makes this even better with his bonuses to headshots and Crit Chance buffs on his 4.

Status is probably my favorite to build for, because it requires some planning and helps in real late game content. Every faction has resistances and weaknesses, and building a loadout to cover all your bases. If you pick a weapon that is ideal for Status builds, it will reward you with proper building. Tigris Prime is a perfect armor shredder with a high status chance corrosive build (you could even do Viral / Slash because of the Tigris is capable of a lot of slash procs).

I think the only way to really nail this down is, the weapon, faction, and honestly personal preference. I love my status loadouts, but my friend loves his crit loadouts, and we both form well at high level content. Neither of you are wrong, as each have their merets.
