Are they?  This is news to me as a PS5-player who's spent dozens of hours in the Entrati Labs.

Do you have Dynamic Resolution set to really low? That could help mitigate most slowdowns, I guess. For those of us refusing to sacrifice image quality, it's not really an option.

Regardless, Steve and Rebecca has addressed the issue on streams before, specifically mentioning it as a PS5 issue at least, so it's a thing that they're looking to fix.

  2. Honestly Gauss just does what Ember's supposed to do, just much better synergy within his abilities. Not sure what to do with Ember that doesn't make either one seems unnecessary.

  3. Consoles right now are struggling performance-wise in the newer Entrati Labs tilesets, the open world maps, and during any Railjack stuff. Probably more I'm forgetting to list. I don't think they will get 120fps support anytime soon... not in this generation of consoles, anyway.

Most of these QoL updates are geared for earlier players. I am not going to discount things like the pet rework, fixing the naming on final damage multipliers, or removing Syndicate Sigils for rep, even though those were just long overdue. We see lowering the bar to entry for quests, a boost in lower Mastery Rank syndicate standing caps, Mk-1 Weapons going away from Vor's Prize along with Flawed Mods, pushing players through previous content updates as usual, and quite a focus on acceleration instead of enrichment. Sure, we get syndicate sigils removed, but look at how Archon Shards are handled in the Helminth/inventory. They function like Arcanes did when we had to use Distillers. Melee Crescendo and Melee Duplicate existing in a time-gated reward table that houses items you get for a trivial cost outside of this mission. That feels worse than the one Arcane per Trial per day reward structure. You see so many QoL updates that affect more early game players, but several blunders in the areas where late-game players are engaging that have already been addressed at minimum 1 year prior in some other update.

I also don't want to sound like what newer players have received is "bad". There is certainly still several things that need help when it comes to the new player experience. However, many of these changes aren't enhancing the new player experience, it's just shortening it. The only mechanic we've gotten that really enhances a new player experience is shield gating and universal medallion pickups. No improvements made to Fortuna's backwards Solaris Debt Bonds/Profit-Taker Systems drops for reputation. No proper universal vacuum. No standardization of Aura Mods for their bonus and polarity. No increased capacity from Exalted Stance Mods. We still have a restriction on "Acolyte Mods" which haven't even dropped from Acolytes in the last 4 years. We still have stat-stick abilities. You still require keys for several missions. There's been no improvement to make the Codex a place that properly teaches players about mechanics, enemies, or rewards. Nightwave shortened the lengths you need to go to reach rank 30, but there's been no word on their plan to tackle seasonal exclusives in a way that doesn't require the player to wait years. I could go on and on with the long overdue list of changes that actually enhances the experience for players, not just shortens their play time to reach the next hurdle. If you listed every "QoL improvement" for Warframe in a list, things like "remove Mk-1 weapons from Vor's Prize" is laughably far down the list.

Isn't there a good quote from one of the large Youtubers (maybe it was JoshStrifeHayes?) that mentions the red flag this behavior creates when development shifts to a heavy focus on accelerating newer players "to catch up" as it serves as a form of admittance to being more desperate for newer players to stick around? Using Destiny 2 as an example here really isn't the best call. Though I guess Warframe has been following a similar strategy in some ways.

You mention "eliminating FOMO", but that is now the entirety of Warframe's end-game. All there is to do between updates is FOMO content. There is nothing to strive for outside of that. Warframe's end-game should be an improved Riven Mods grind, something like Trials; an experience where there is infinite grind with infinite improvement during the process, but one you just do at your pace.

I'm also really tired of hearing "This is because Rebecca is in charge" as if Steve and the "older" devs weren't adding these kinds of things already. Things like Endo replacing Fusion Cores, Arcanes getting dedicated slots, Plains of Eidolon Arcanes changing from a craft to just reputation, Bounty bonuses, and more were all a result of the same kinds of updates. We've been getting quality of life throughout Warframe's history. What's important is to analyze the context of these changes. Changes like Fusion Cores to Endo are a massive quality of life that tremendously enriched the experience for all players, just as Dirac to Endo did years later. Removing Void Dash for Void Sling as we're heading into the year of Warframe Mobile as well as more heavy usage of "exclusives" in monetization is not "quality of life". Honestly, with how many nice changes we have gotten, it still ends up balancing itself out with the other end of the spectrum with Heirlooms, Regal Aya, Void Sling, Archon Shards, Incarnon Adapters, Steel Essence purchase caps, etc.

It doesn't bother me that we get so many changes that may not affect me personally as I play, it bothers me that as we get these changes, other areas of the game are actually regressing, like with Archon Shard management or Void Sling replacing Void Dash. Those types of issues just sting, especially knowing that even though leadership has shifted, they aren't "new" to Warframe's scene.

Mostly valid points, but also consider that they only have so much manpower, budget, and time to work on so many things at the same time. Some stuff would take priority, some would take a backseat, and this is on top of creating new stuff too.

Such is the nature of live service games. By the time "QoL for system X" is set and ready to be implemented, "New content A" is also set to launch without similar QoL features as the former, because development of the two overlapped with no time to implement the former into the latter. It happens. Give it time, is all I could say.

Those accounts can only be linked not merged and would lease to losing my pc and xbox accounts(i don't care that much about my switch account). So yeah older players who have played across multiple platforms legit(which i suspect are more then you'd think) have to decide to stay the same or lose at minimum 1 account if not more.

But you don't have to actually lose them, you simply don't merge or link them at all if you don't want to lose them.

There is a reason not to if an older player who migrated to console..We'll lost multiple accounts and not just one of the migrated ones(which most agree is understandable) so yeah some players are kinda locked out of it.

There's a workaround with just making a new PC account to "tether" the console account to, just so they could access trading on the console account but still keep their original PC account intact.

Sure, it's more work, but the way everything's set up, no one is absolutely locked out of trading.

Everyone "who wants it". There's many people in my clan alone that have no interest in cross-save so I can't trade with them or send them gifts anymore even tho we've been playing together forever. This cross-save aka switch people to PC accounts has been a deceitful cross-save experience. It's not real cross-save, it's just reducing people into using PC accounts and it permanently merged your console data into a PC account.

I really need an option to reverse this. I want my PSN only account back so I can trade with my clan.

It will be no different from enabling 2FA. Either make a cross-save account, which won't be hard once it rolls out for everyone, or not be able to trade with the majority of players.

There really is no reason to not enable cross-save.

  8. The huge focus on QoL updates and anti-frustration features since the Rebecca era, plus Whispers in the Walls + Cross-Save and Account Merging rollout actually all makes me feel like the game is in its best state ever. I think some people are just having rose-tinted glasses on, or they kind of game they want Warframe to be is simply what it isn't anymore.

The same thing happened with Destiny 2. In its recent years(well, up until Lightfall in 2023 at least, but even then), the game mostly improved on so many fronts and eliminating as much FOMO-inducing stuff and providing less grindier ways to play, on top of bringing their best narrative and level-design content into their new campaigns, yet many people still couldn't see past their rose-tinted glasses and long for the days when things were objectively worse.

  9. If they bring back other sources of Nitain like Alerts, there's nothing saying they have to bring it back 100% the way it was in the past. Just make 4 daily missions, all up for 24 hours before refreshing with the daily refresh, give out a Nitain for completion. A guaranteed 4 a day isn't too much. Most players would likely even take 1 or 2 per day.

  10. After 10 years of playing, I'm finally about to finish the last couple of nodes in the Star Chart. I've been playing on and off(mostly off), but I've never actually gotten to a place where my builds feel comfortable taking into even something as "low" as level 60-80+ content.

For context on what I have/have not:

    Spoiler

    - Finished all main quests, not started/finished Duviri Paradox, Silver Grove, Waverider, Hidden Messages, Jordas Precept

    - Rank 3 Quills, Rank 4 Ostron, Rank 4 Solaris United, Rank 0 Vox Solaris, Rank 3 Entrati, Rank 1 Holdfasts, Rank 1 Cavia

    - Barely have any Arcanes, only a few trash ones from random tier 1 Eidolon Hunts

    - Have 1 Amp(not the basic Mote), no Zaws or Kitguns yet

    - Haven't unlocked Arbitrations and Steel Path yet(about to), so no Galvanized Mods, also no Archon Mods yet as just started doing Archon Hunts(and getting hard carried at it)

    - Have all frames except for: Citrine, Dagath(farming Vainthorn slowly), Gyre, Kullervo, Lavos, Qorvex, Yareli, and base Grendel

    - Out of the S- and A-tier primary weapons from https://overframe.gg/tier-list/primary-weapons/ I have: Nataruk, Rubico P, Ignis Wraith, Amprex, Soma P, Tenora P, Latron P, Tigris P, Arca Plasmor, Dread

    - No Kuva or Tenet weapons yet, no Gravimag for grounded Archguns either

    - Most bronze/silver/gold mods, Corrupted mods, Nightmare mods, Primed: Flow, Continuity, Cryo Rounds, Fast Hands, Fever Strike, Heated Charge, Heavy Trauma, Point Blank, Pressure Point, Ravage, Reach

    - Have Forma, Catalysts, and Reactors to spare, but not Exilus adapters or Umbra/Stance Formas

As you can see, I'm lacking in a lot of things. I've never been able to quite wrap my head around "endgame" builds, never sure whether to prioritize survival or DPS/killing stuff, especially when left solo. Also not sure which frame to use in which situations, or how to mod the frames or my weapons. I've just been building my weapons for either Viral or Corrosive, balancing status and crit when appropriate according on the weapon's base stats.

So I need help, not just in builds, but in terms of what to focus on next. I know 100% I won't survive jumping straight into Arbitrations or Steel Path. I'm fine taking my time and focusing on certain content islands first to build up my arsenal first, I just don't know which ones should take priority.

    Should I focus/work on:

    - Getting Arcanes? Which ones and how?

    - Making a Zaw or a Kitgun? Make a stronger Amp?

    - Ranking up the non-base Syndicates? Which ones?

    - Get any Kuva/Tenet weapons?

...and these are probably just to start with.

Any tips or help would be appreciated, thanks!

  11. So as I understand it, previously as a PS4/5 player I couldn't buy Platinum and/or other Premium Bundles directly from the Warframe website, and have to go through the PSN store.

Now I've activated cross-save, and merged my old PC account into my PSN account. The primary that kept the quest progress was the PSN account. But when I log into the WF website and forum, I no longer have to use my PSN login and could just use my PC login, and it will still show the current merged, primary account.

My question is, if I now buy Platinum through the website, or through Steam, will I be able to see and use that Platinum when I play on my PS console?

In addition to what everyone else has said - I also just want to point out that just because a player is a high MR level and is crap at the game, doesn't necessarily mean they bought their way there.

*Waves* Hi, it's me....   I am a "legitimate" (didn't buy my way there) L3 player who is still pretty crap at the game.  Some of us aren't interested in meta, don't care about being able to nuke rooms, sometimes often slam into doors when Volt makes us too speedy, fail jumps.... need carrying sometimes because harder content is difficult even though we should have the skils and all the things to cope....

Some of us just like to have FUN!

Some of us get here because we spend a lot of time/enjoyment in the game collecting/completing stuff, and sometimes our skill doesn't match other people's expectations.

Same here. I've been a 10-year player and I just now got to MR22 thanks to merging my PC account to my PS account, so I got the MR points for stuff I had originally before my platform switch. I'm definitely a "worse" player than some MR12-MR18 players I've matchmade with.

    I.... disagree? I think he's cool.

In - game model even more than the concept art. which can be found here:

    Liger-inuzuka-1-wtrmrk.jpg

The artist who made the concept art is Liger-inuzuka. They made quite a few Warframe designs as well.

I think he looks cool, too.

I'm getting Ansem from Kingdom Hearts vibes from his concept art there.

  14. I just recently finished it in around 6-8 hours. About half a day with breaks. Didn't touch it for years because I hadn't got a Necramech and wasn't playing regularly anyway.

I agree that they should let you quit. The warning isn't wrong, but as people said it didn't properly communicate that some players might be actually, genuinely stuck/get locked out of the rest of the game by being unable to complete the quest.

It was an awful quest, regardless. Story-wise it was pretty cool. But the quest was all the worst parts of Warframe all meshed together and I did not enjoy playing one bit of it. Awful level and encounter designs, awful limitations on combat imposed on the player, horrendous pacing...

But if I got through it, as a not-good player who still needs to get carried through Sorties, don't have any Arcanes, and haven't even unlocked the Steel Path yet, most players should be able to. Just play more carefully.

  15. Reducing Endless mission timer/waves per rotation would be such a nice QoL update. It's time.

More reworks for frames that need it like Hydroid got. Hydroid got so good that I hope his rework was a sign that DE wants that to be the standard of how powerful frames should be going forward.
