  1. And instead of making a new topic, I'll just add a bit more to this one seeing it's still in the theme of the original suggestion.

    Part II: The Great Hunt.

With the mini-feature above, you can have your pet hunt the plains of Eidolon... but what if you could hunt alongside it?
Now, I don't mean 'hunt' as in: obliterate every living thing and pick up the pieces, because that's what you're already doing ALL the time.

I mean: you accept a quest in Cetus that drops you in a random location on the plains, only equipped with:
    - A powerless warframe
    - A (Custom built) bow
    - 2 of your pets

That's right, TWO. These pets are chosen at random from the ones you currently own.
From that point forward, you have to rely on your pets to track down a creature somewhere on the plains.
Once you found them, you'll have to take them out the old fashioned hunter way: with bow and arrow.

On to the good stuff then.

    Skill changes
Upon entering this mission, your skills are replaced by a new set of Hunting Skills.
These skills depend on your equipment and companions.
Skill 1 and 2 are decided by your weapon.
Skill 3 and 4 are decided by your Companions
No skill 5. We're trying to hunt, not blast things into the void.

    The Hunter's Bow
You start out with a basic bow and through the gathering of materials and rep, you can upgrade this with new parts, increasing effectiveness and adding new skills.
    Each bow is made from:
    - Handle (decides skill 1, Attack)
    - String (decides skill 2, CC)
    - Frame (decides the look of the bow)

This way you can rock whatever bow you prefer (fashionframe?) and still have free choice of which skill you take to the hunt.
Skills include, but are not limited to: Snares, poisons, sniper shot, etc...

    The Hunter's Companions.
Your pets decide which skill you receive, and the more you have, the more random the results.
Skill 3 will always be an attack skill: Kubrows may favor the direct approach and go for the throat, where as a kavat may grant you invisiblity for that perfect ambush.
Skill 4 will be a skill to track your prey. A kubrow's tracking skill could add a point on the map where it last detected its scent.
A kavat on the other hand could highlight a path to its prey (similar to finding a synthesis target).

Either way, these abilities point you in the general direction and are on a timer.

With all the above in mind, there's just one thing to consider: is this still warframe we're playing?
From space ninja's with void infused powers to running on a wide open plain with a bow and a couple of genetically enhanced mammals...

  2. Now that we've got a big open space to run around in, why not let our pets have some fun as well?
...And at the same time, gain some goodies while we're at it.

    Part I: Kavat/Kubrow Exploration
Using this consumable releases your pet into the wilds where it can hunt to its heart's content. When you're ready to move on, or you require your pet by your side, use the item again and it'll launch a flare into the air. This will signal your pet to return with the loot.

For every minute your pet spends hunting, there's a chance to roll an item from its loot table.
Each pet has a different droptable too, just to make things a bit more random.

    Hunting traits
Kavats are more likely to return with animal parts or fish.
Adarza Kavat's Cat's Eye ability enables it to get more valuable loot.
Smeeta Kavat's Charm may result in a few duplicate items.

Kubrows may come back with ores or loot from an unlucky Grineer Patrol that crossed its path.
Huras' with hunt favor hunting the local wildlife
Raksa's with Howl terrify Grineer, allowing it to pilfer their encampments.
Sahasa's with Dig find gems and ores more easily
Sunika's with Unleashed come back with more loot from Grineer drops

Helminth Charger... errr... I have no idea what I'd let it do.
Probably better to not let it frolick around the Plains of Eidolon and cause a new type of infestation.

    Consumable variations
Because it wouldn't be warframe without some farming, there are different types of consumables.
Using these does not replace the hunting traits of your pet!

These items are there to direct your pet: Hunt, Explore, Scavenge or Attack.
Each type grants items in addition to their regular loot and a chance to find items they can't find otherwise.
Hunt: Loot from the local wildlife.
    Explore: Gems, ores and plants.
Scavenge: Loot from chests and encampments.
    Attack: Loot straight from Grineer.

ALTERNATIVE IDEA: These consumable 'types' may be very well be replaced with a Kubrow/Kavat mod that has to be equipped

    Time Limits and Loot constraints.
Now... we can't have someone send out their pet and go AFK and let their pet return with more loot than it can carry.
So I suggest the following: Each pet has a limit amount of items it can carry. After reaching this limit, you will be informed via a status update on the HUD.
You can then decide to recall the pet, or let it hunt a bit longer.
Items that will drop will replace those in its inventory if the VALUE of the new item is higher.

Seeing there's a chance your pet finds an item, its inventory can be full in 15 minutes, but it could take an hour just as well.
Again, Eidolon mods for Kuvat/Kubrow may chance the odds in your favor.

  3. Sigh yay black text so i wouldn't even know if this was even a good fan frame.

    Yeah, sorry about that.

Copypasted it from Google docs and it decided to take the text color along with all the formatting.

  4. Tenno,

Although the struggles we face are exhausting, do not give up hope.

During the rise of ALAD V, one of our scientists managed to decipher a code fragment that hinted at something previously unknown.

During the past few months a specialized team has been working almost non-stop to trace its origins. The ongoing war has served us well as a cover, allowing several operatives to go off-radar and pursue this ancient knowledge.

The dedication of these teams in their pursuit of knowledge lost has finally paid off.

This discovery may not be able to turn the war in our favor, but we will definitely be able to strike harder and more precise. The ancient orokin texts speak of a strike team only known as ‘The Vanguard’.

These specialized warriors were sent into the most dangerous locations to strike hard and fast, fulfilling their objectives with extreme prejudice. Although we are still deciphering more data, this is what we have found so far.

The Vanguard was a team of 3 Warframes, each featuring a set of abilities unseen so far.

    Warframe ‘***’ - The Defender.

This specialized warframe utilizes a plethora of shielding technology to defend its team as well as indirectly assault the enemy. A few abilities have already been unveiled.

    - AEGIS

Envelops all team member with a powerful shield that absorbs damage, making them impervious to all damage. After reaching a certain threshold, the shield violently explodes, damaging and pushing back assailants.

Several log files report that this shielding ability has an aetherial wing-like appearance.

    Warframe ‘***’ - The Crusader

The warframe’s name and location has yet to be decoded, but fragments reveal some the terrible esoteric powers it wielded. It is clear that this warframe was the one who engaged the enemy combatants.

    - IMPALE

The ability creates deadly spires of energy that burst forth from underground in a wide area, impaling their victim. Those that don’t die right away will bleed out slowly as they are writhing helplessly in the air, crucified.

Addendum: There was one warrior, whose name stricken from record, known to have a mutation of this power. Instead of a spike of energy, it had a twisted shape similar to the Orokin Tree in our dojo’s. As such, the nickname ‘Forest of the dead’ was appropriate when all that was left in his wake were entire divisions of grineer impaled by his strange power.

    Warframe ‘***’ - Drone Command

‘***’ comes equipped with 6 regenerating drones. These drones are attached on the back of the warfame and supply additional shield when not in use. Each ability the warframe executes, uses one or more of these drones. After several seconds, a new drone will materialize in place of the used ones.

    - SWARM

All 6 drones teleport to the designated location, assaulting everything within their range like a swarm of mad hornets. Mad hornets with lasers.

Although this is a powerful ability, it leaves the user with significant reduced shield power.

    -------------

This is a short intro into new 3 character classes.

I haven’t given each one a complete set of skill because I think a group of people can come up with better ideas than a single person.

Anyone who likes is free to suggest ideas for their names and abilities.

Here are the themes of each ‘frame:

    Warframe ‘***’ - The Defender.

Utilizes shield is different forms, shapes, sizes and properties.

    Warframe ‘***’ - The Crusader.

Shapes and changes energy into physical objects.

    Warframe ‘***’ - Drone Command.

Uses an army of remote drones to do his bidding.

  5. Dear DE,

Before committing to support you by purchasing one of the available packs, I would love to have an answer to following questions.

    1) These packs are just as 'exclusive' as the Founders packs and no item will ever be made available any other way. Yes or no?

    2) Will each new Prime packs contain new items, or will parts of this pack be transferred to it?

    3) What is the planned release schedule for new Prime packs?

    4) Can we receive information about the upcoming pack well in advance? I'm talking weeks here.

For example: Someone buys an Inferno pack only to see a week later that the newly released pack is so much more to their liking and personal playing style. No matter how dedicated, people won't be shelving out big numbers every time.

I've bought the founders pack to support a game I enjoyed playing and I'm more than willing to keep supporting IF I receive a bit more information. I'm assuming you have things planned out, so the more info, the better for all of us.

  6. Here's an utterly random idea to replace Frost's AVALACHE.

    Introducing HYPOTHERMIA!

A large area is covered with a layer of icy fog. (Just a layer close to the ground, not the vision-obscuring kind of fog)

Don't know what I want the fog to do so here's the things I came up with.

    - Deal constant damage over time + slow. (Both damage and slow increases the longer the enemy stay inside the fog)

    OR

    - Enemies who remain within the fog are impaled by an ice spike after x seconds. (applies slow + damage)

    OR

    - Enemies who die within the fog flash-freeze and explode violently, damaging nearby foes.

OR a mixture of all of the above...sorta

Patches of ice form on enemies within the fog, slowing them down. Shooting these ice patches causes them to explode and encase the victim into a solid block of ice (slightly similar to Saryn's Venom, but with a strong CC effect). Killing an enemy in this state causes him to explode and damage nearby enemies.

  7. I dunno... I'm pretty sure the release will happen no matter the outcome.

    1) The Grineer win the war, ALAD V runs away, taking his research with him.

Chase him down while the Grineer are distracted by their apparent victory.

    2) The Corpus win the war. ALAD V send out his forces to secure his newly gained planets and chase off any remaining Grineer resistance.

Use this opportunity to strike at the heart of his research facility and save the captured Tenno.

  8. I haven't read through the last 60-ish pages, so there's a big chance this has already been suggested.

Anyways, here's my idea for Desecrate: Ability toggle.

Wtf, right? Okay, let's disect my train of thought here.

    1) Toggle.

Desecrate can be toggled ON or OFF by simply using the ability.

when it's toggled ON, there will be an obvious visual indicator that Nekros is in badass mode.

    2) Energy management.

Activating the ability will reduce the Maximum energy of the warframe by 50/75/100 Energy. (numbers are just for illustration purposes, not balance)

This energy is NOT spent but put in a reserve: The moment Desecrate is toggled OFF, the maximum energy will go back to its normal level and the used energy is refunded immediatly. Makes you choose: do you want the extra items, or will you need the energy for other abilities... decisions, decisions.

    3) Aura.

    A) Desecrate has a 25/35/45% chance for ANY enemy killed within range of Nekros (range increases with Rank and Reach) to spawn additional items.

I think this would make it a handy team-ability to have, especially when waves/corpses of enemies are piling up.

    OR

    B) Desecrate has a 55/60/65% chance for enemies killed by Nekros to spawn additional items.

Higher chances for items to pop, but requires Nekros to get the killing blow.

Shouldn't be a problem seeing he needs the kills to fuel his army... AND seeing items pop like crazy when the ability procs shoud be rather satisfying.

So in short: You can toggle the ability ON for a reduction in Energy and gain a constant effect.

And the toggle ability can also be applied to other Warframes, no?

Flavor text: Nekros releases a host of nanomachines into his surroundings, transmuting slain enemies into usable resources.

  9. Great patch, can't wait to try out the changes this evening.

And with all these swift patches and with this level of communication, it always feels like the platinum I purchased is totally worth it.

  10. ... I know that patch 7.8.1 says " Inventory Checkpoint for Endless Defense added. Reaching every fifth wave (5, 10, 15…) locks in rewards earned to that point." But is losing defense rewards for a set of 5 missions intended, a bug or oversight?

Losing the only banshee blueprint I needed was quite the annoyance, but I'd like to know whether or not I have to bail out if I wanna keep my reward.

    EDIT

Just been told that this is normal.

    Topic can be closed.

  11. When it comes to Defence missions the mods, resources and money you earn every 5 rounds gets saved, right?

So why doesn't it save the reward you get from completing 5 rounds?

Is this the way it should be?

I find it weird to lose the reward for round 10, when being defeated round 13.

  12. This will probably get downvoted, but 'practice makes perfect'.

The multi-level tiles are only confusing at first, took me a few runs before figuring out where to go when the waypoint marker pointed 'up' or when it pointed 'down'.

I've only had a few instances where I had to backtrack for a whole minute before getting back on track.

  13. I'm all in favor for upgrading weapons once they reached their max level! ...but not for free.

Make it cost some Rubedo, Ferrite, Gallium and a few 10000 credits.

And with every time you upgrade it, increase the costs by 25-50% or something.

  14. Unless you'd want the swords to clip into eachother in the middle this move would need to have a stupid looking animation.

Well, that move is for the Long Weapons category, so it would be one slash (lower right to upper left) followed by the next one (lower left to upper right). I don't really see the clipping issue here...

I really can't imagine any single dagger doing a Shoryuken... it just seem... awkward.

Yeahhh.. I was thinking with Furax and Ankyros in mind.

And you're right though... it would look pretty damn silly. XD
