  1. So what's the best weapon for endless defense? There is so much debate out there it's hard to decide. I've tried many weapons and mods and still haven't found my sweet spot. Building a Hek ATM. I like the burston but in mass waves it lacks. Need a little more range. Would love some opinions. Just don't jump the the clan weapons I'm not there yet

    Thanks

Easiest to get, best bang for your buck: Kunai. Ultimate combo? Ogris for large groups of minions (it his pretty hard vs. heavies too), Acrid for melting tough single targets like Ancients, Minigunners, etc. When you get to the Clan weapons, aim for those two.
  2. This is kind of absurd. Yet another addition to the long list of reasons as to why the gaming industry refuses to "grow up". Here we had a chance for some real kick &#! female characters that where not just random sex symbols, and they are in high heals. *facepalm* Why not go ahead and put make up on their helmets? I suppose I should count my blessings, at least they're fully armored, and not wearing bikins. I redact my previous exasperation, you have to take the small victories whe you can get them.

But seriously, there is no reason for high heels, or clogs on space ninja gun fighters. It's just one step too far.

Style's a great reason for high heels.  This is a stylish game.  Look at other sci-fi movies/games.  You think getting into a gunfight at close range with karate moves is a good idea?  The Matrix does it not because it's realistic or combat effective, but because it's stylish and looks good.

  3. If the Akbolto had better accuracy at long range, there would be little reason to use any other weapon.  Fast firing rate, decent clip size, moderate reload speeds, very high damage that hits Grineer and Ancients like they had weakspots all over their bodies, what else could one want?  It's already in the top tier of weapons.  It does that much damage because you can't aim very well with it past medium range.

  4. Depends on whether it's for Shotguns or Pistols.  For Shotguns, it gives you 120% more pellets.  For Pistols, there's a 100% chance that every pull of the trigger will shoot 2 bullets and a 20% chance that a pull of the trigger will shoot 3 bullets.  Rifle Multishot only goes up to 90%, but it works like the Pistol one.

  5. So much misinformation in this thread.  Armor Piercing damage works simply like an additional elemental damage mod, and does damage separately from the base normal damage.  Like the other elemental damage types, enemies take additional or reduced damage from it.  Armor Piercing damage is very good because apparently the only enemies that take reduced damage from it are the normal Infested.  Ancients take full damage.

"Armor ignoring" is not a true form of damage, it's probably better to think of it as bolt damage instead.  Take the Bolto for example.  If you shoot a Corpus boxhead with no mods, it does 0 damage.

Damage mechanics work like this: bullet damage does 50% on Grineer bodies, 100% on Grineer heads, bolt damage does 100% on Grineer bodies, 200% on Grineer heads.  There's no hidden armor value, just locational modifiers that's further differentiated based on the type of weapon you use.

  6. I think you guys are missing the best part of Dark Sword: it has the absolute highest charge damage to charge time ratio in the game.  For single, strong targets, it has the highest DPS out of ALL melee weapons.  That's already very special.  Triple damage to Infested is actually not special at all.  Bladed weapons all have a similar damage bonus vs. Infested.

  7. I'm not sure if its related or not, but I have been trying to kill Leitenant Lech Krill to get the frost systems blueprint in Ceres system, mission: Exta. Usually he drops a blueprint (unfortunatelly it was the ones I had) and if not, oh well, I try again because I want the frame. HOWEVER, ever since the new update, I have not had him drop a single blueprint and I have killed him 6 different times. I am wondering if this is just some really bad luck or perhaps the blueprint drop chance reduction used on Vor is somehow transfering over to Lech Krill.

Just bad luck.  Once I killed a boss like 8 times in a row without a blueprint drop.  Then he dropped blueprints 3 times in a row.  RNG is random and all that.  Keep at it, Frost is really fun!

  8. I have something like 130+ hours played in Warframe.  I just found my very first Hell's Chamber multishot mod.  It made me very, very happy, because I had been looking for that mod for a long time.  I don't care to get three copies, I only wanted one.  If that's taken away from me in the rollback, I would be very, very unhappy.  I have plenty of credits, I have plenty of platinum, but the one time I beat the RNG gods and got something rare I wanted, I don't want it to go away.  It's that simple.  Just fix the problem and let people keep what they have.  If people have some extra credits and xp, who does that hurt, really?

  9. I can probably kill the Ancient faster using a Hek, yes, but...I can't lock down 3 Ancients at the same time without taking any damage or be disrupted (which is way worse than just being beat on a few times).  With max charge damage plus max charge speed the Dual Ethers charge attack about 1.5 times a second, which makes them shred Ancients quite effectively.  Not as fast as a Hek, but...you don't ever have to reload melee weapons, either, and the Hek doesn't reload very fast.

If you think about it, all weapons have a niche.  The Hek isn't as useful vs. a lot of weaker enemies as say, the Gorgon, because you can kill many, many more weak enemies before having to reload a Gorgon.  Really a Gorgon's probably better for fighting Ancients too.  If you aim for the right weakspot, you can kill 2-3 Ancients with a single Gorgon clip, faster than you can fire 12-15 Hek rounds with the reload speed factored in.  Of course over the course of a long mission the Gorgon will have ammunition problems, and the Hek won't, and on targets other than Ancients, it's going to take a bit longer to ramp up to that firing speed, whereas the Hek will instantly take it out.  Weapons being situational isn't bad design.  If anything it's good design and makes our choices more interesting.

Better yet, why would you compare melee weapons to guns, when they're not competitive but complimentary?  If I'm fighting an Infested horde I'll lay into the little guys with my Dual Ethers and save my Hek shots for the Ancients.  If I waste my few Hek shots in a clip overkilling Chargers, I'm left high and dry for the Ancients, spending precious seconds reloading instead of killing.

  10. If they only buff Pressure Point, it won't do anything for Fragor/Scindo etc.'s charge attack, melee attack damage is just for the fast melee attack.  So that's an option.  The melee mod you want is Molten Impact, by the way, 15% per level fire damage.  Fire damage is the most useful one anyway because the #1 target of melee attacks are the Infested, who take double damage from fire.  Have you tried Fury?  Straight up 10% per level increase in attack speed.  With max Fury, max fire damage, max armor piercing damage (rare mod, also 15% per level for melee, tied with shotguns for the best), max ice damage, etc., the basic attack from Dual Ethers, which ignore armor and does triple damage to Infested, just shreds enemies.  Like, 3 attacks a second for 200+ damage an attack, in an AoE.  I'm a whirlwind of destruction who leaves only flaming body parts in my wake.  Ancients don't even get to attack me because I'm attacking so fast with the Dual Ethers I'm permanently stunlocking them.  Insane melee weapons with the right mods, no charging necessary.  I leave my Fragor at home now.

  11. OrtuOcelot, that is absolutely not how the game works.  I had a 100% Hornet Strike mod at one point.  I slapped it on a Bolto, which does 25 damage base, with no other mods.  It did exactly 50 damage to a Grineer Lancer on a body shot.  So +100% damage meant exactly +100% damage.  The mods are very powerful.  This is why the Hek really is insanely OP.  I can one shot most non-Ancient enemies and I haven't even found the multishot mod for shotguns yet.  In fact, I one shot most monsters under level 35 with single rounds from the Gorgon because I do have multishot for rifles and all the damage increasing mods relatively well upgraded.

I think the problem is you're making a math error.  You're calculating a 22% damage increase for the Bronco, not a 220% damage increase.
