I'm sorry, but as a veteran player(Update 1, anyone?), starmap update really is make/break for me. I know a lot of people who feel the same way. DE, this is your chance to start to fix the huge, fundamental problems in your game.

Yeah, this is exactly where I am at. It's been years and years and I'm honestly out of "come on guys it won't be that bad!"

I'm not angry, none of the above mentioned frames are favorites or anything but it sets the tone for the entire game. Where devs are at and what they want as opposed to us playing who are down in the space trenches just bored out of our minds waiting for a 0.5% chance crumb to drop.

The game was always fun for it excess, if all we're going to do is make everything boring again, well, good luck. Heaven forbid the ninja have a neat ninja move or the healer be good at healing. You can't pigeonhole players on one hand then gimp the tools they use to compensate with the other.

  2. Well, I'll just add my two cents on the entire thing.

To be up front about it, I'm not working right now, I have medical issues and I'm still recovering from back surgery last year. I have a lot of free time on my hands and I really don't play much of anything else besides Warframe. September this year marks four years for me playing this game almost every single day since the moment I got my closed beta key.

That being said, as a MR21, nearly four year vet who more or less lives in this game, I had exactly one single part out of all the new Prime Access items, (the Fragor head we all seem to have), and that's with 40+ hours played since it all dropped on the 17th. After finally giving up and spending about 1,000 plat to buy and rush Vauban, (he's my absolute favorite frame), I had exactly one Nitain left over from the entire process.

My clan is made up of either founders or closed beta vets, and at most we have four of us who actually still play. If I myself, the tippy-tip of the spear just barely had the Nitain and plat to basically bribe my way to these items, what hope do they have? My friends who play this are so utterly crushed with the grind as is that no one wants to bother with any of it. In the past I could bribe them with my extra items to build the stuff they missed and we'd all keep going but if I've burned almost all my keys and still have absolutely nothing but Carrier BPs and Nyx parts to show for it, what was the point?

Make no mistake either, I'm talking about a super involved group of friends who've dumped thousands of hours into this game since it's inception but one by one each and every one of us has hit a definitive wall that there really was no getting around. Now, finally, as the last man standing I'm completely boxed in and out of reasons/bribes/hope to keep us playing.

No, I don't want DE to work for free, no I don't *need* every item in the game but all the same I shouldn't try for 150 DAYS to get a Vengeful Revenant to drop before finally buying it from someone who probably got it out of PvP anyway. I was ok with the RNG for a while because I could ducat whatever I did earn and sell Baro items/mods for plat to then buy void items but now that isn't even enough. I have to subscribe to a Twitter feed to see Nitain alerts and grind my heart out for Argon as well. I already feel like I live in the game, day in and day out, I don't feel like my time means *anything* any more.

I'm not burnt out on the game, I LOVE the game. I just really want it to matter again. If someone like me at the top with nothing but time can't get a single drop after 40 hours a week something is very clearly wrong. I can't play this full time trying for parts AND run Nitain alerts AND grind enough Argon to build stuff. It's asking far, far too much and I've lost an entire clans worth of people because of it.

  3. Ye fun.. i love running the same mission over and over hunting for mods from an enemy you just spam with bullets.. wohoo \(^-^)/

So playing Warframe same as usual then?

I agree with Notey. It's an event running in the background that I can tackle at my pace. It's not the usual weekend burnout they've been in the past.

if you guys can't pace yourselves, I really am sorry, but that's on you.

  4.

I use valkyr on spy missions(I have a 99.9999% chance to perfect a vault on all missions), and if someone ONLY allows loki or ash, this system is broken.

Which is fine but you're assuming every player on every spy is going to limit things. I'm sure the majority of people do not care.

And in regards to djteran's thoughts on the matter. I don't appreciate the notion that we just have to deal with people wanting to be uncooperative because that's their 'style'. Why do I get the short end of the stick? I have plenty of friends who play but we can't always get a full four person team going and all it takes is one random on that fourth slot and things are ruined. If the majority of players are ok with the open lobby then you can enjoy the company of the small percentage I don't want to associate with, deal?

  5. Nothing would make me happier than seeing option #3 implemented.

There are so many players trying for so many different things in so many different areas, I really don't see the problem with it. Hell, I'd take a percentage XP hit for the match just for being allowed to black list some frames here and there.

I know someone is going to throw a fit about driving a wedge between the player base with something like this but if you are the AFK WoF Ember who plays nothing but, well...you are the problem. XP might be shared but the rest of us would like to play the game too. I have't logged 2k+ something hours over the last three years so I can sit there and watch you do nothing on the other end of the map while you're AFK.

There are what, 25 or so different frames right now, minus prime variants? I don't think letting people who are really bothered on specific maps in certain scenarios filter out a pet peeve or two WHILE THEY ARE HOSTING hurts anything at all.

  6. Please stop making frames a chore to play. "Interactivity" is the boogie man and I'm very much afraid of him.

(And before someone tries to be clever and call me lazy or say I don't want to play the game myself, I don't play Ash for how good he may or may not be. I play him for the sheer fun of it all. I hated Mesa's peacemaker aimbotting the entire level but the new tweak doesn't work hardly at all yet everyone is clamoring for more).

  7. The other side of this is that while I can't say how anyone else plays Ash, I'm personally all over the place teleporting to big stuff for the melee takedown, throwing the shurikens constantly and smoke bombing out of a jam all the time. The blade storm is my take a breather moment before I dive back into the chaos. There is a point where we're just banging on keys needlessly to make things happen and I'd rather just use my gun than go to all the effort. Ash is a style frame, if you want everyone to see how dedicated and tryhard you can be, play something else.

  8. Did the idea ever cross your mind that Bladestorm could be reworked in a way that doesn't nerf it?

Nope because it's fine as is. It's like what, 20 guys max that die? If I wanted to do literally nothing i'd play Ember, thank you. If I wanted to button mash in some way I'd play someone other than Ash, what a novel idea!

A new frame gets a feature and everyone wants it shoehorned into all the other characters. New and shiny is never a catch-all and this game will be much better when people accept that.

  9. There are days where I log into Warframe, become unsure of what I even want to do, and then just log off without actually playing.

Their business model aside, I just wanted to echo this sentiment. I've been an avid player for two years now but every change as of late feels like we're being punished for something. As is, I'm having an awful hard time justifying the hardrive space for something I once really, really loved. Something has to change.

  10. It's an effective spot, it'll get nerfed like everything else. Why are we in such a collective uproar?

What I will say though it no one has the right to condemn how others play. If it's a really small map and I have a ton of range, well S#&$ happens. Don't be 'that guy' come down on people for not having enough video game honor.

It's not even an exploit, no one is breaking spawns or glitching the map, It's just the right set of circumstances to wreck face.
