Lore:

Ragnor was found by the Orokin right before the beginning of the old war.

It was frozen in an millenial old glacier on earth, but even the Orokin with their advanced technology could not get it out of the ice.

Their last attempt was to send a Tenno general into the glacier, to their surprise the general came back with Ragnor in his hands.

Of course the Orokin scientist immediately transported it to one of their many labs.

But all their research could not tell them how old it was, how it worked, or even what materials it was made of, and that hurt the pride of the Orokin because they could not have what they wanted.

Since this strange weapon hurt their pride, the Orokin wanted to throw it away but the Tenno general that got it out of the glacier asked the Orokin to give Ragnor to him.

They agreed since they didn`t know what to do with it.

 

This Tenno general then continued to use Ragnor in many battles, until the old war began.

He fought his last battle against the Sentient on an Orokin ship near the outer rings of Saturn, unfortunatly the Sentient prevented backup from reaching him.

So this Tenno general died alone in space, and the weapon he fought with in so many battles was lost, drifting trough the endless darkness of the Origin system.
