Adaptation mod not working properly?

I am not sure if this is a bug or not, but after running a few mid-high level missions, it seems like the mod is not properly adding damage resist to my frames, even at maximum stacks. I was in solo Mot using Chroma Prime with no abilities or arcades equipped, just Adaptation, and the enemies still destroyed my health in around 8 seconds. Another thing is that the icons to indicate the mod is taking effect show up, which confuses me. Is anyone getting this issue too? Please reply and give tips if possible. Thank you!
