Operator death glitch

So I was doing a round of high risk index, I was using my operator form so that I could have my amp doing damage while my Excalibur umbra frame fought on its own. So I tried to get back in my frame to do something, but when I did the game reacted like my operator had died, except that it didn't send me back to my frame and none of my controls worked, including the pause menu. So I spent the rest of the game unable to do anything other then move around as an invisible unkillable entity with no use. It fixed itself after the game ended but it wasn't nice that it happened in the first place.
