The newest addition to the Tenno melee arsenal coming with the update 10.2 heavy broadsword the Galantine sports the highest charge damage of all melee weapons and the highest heavy melee base-speed modifier. 

As all melee weapons it has two notably viable builds attack speed/crit focusing on normal attack or charge dmg/charge speed that focuses on its charge attack.

Opting for normal attack build is actually a viable option and one very effective at that. Mods such as Fury,Berserker,True Steel,Reach will most assuredly turn it into whirlwind of destruction. 

Sadly as it's the case with all normal attacks on melee weapons,even with Pressure Point being buffed recently, this build effectiveness considerably drops in late-game when facing off LV80-120 and higher opponents. Thus making charge dmg oriented builds all-around more effective.

With 400 base charge dmg the only downside is its relatively slow charge speed, but mods such as Fury,Reflex Coil,Focus Energy, will easily eliminate that shortcoming. Most people ask why Fury when it increases only normal attack speed, well it is a little known fact that Fury actually increases speed of all attack animations including charge attacks making them notably faster. 

Seeing how Galantine can connect up to 5 enemies at once, equipping Reach will have you slicing enemies up to 2meters away. Other core mods for this build are: Killing Blow,Molten Impact,North Wind,Rending Strike

The final verdict is; no matter how you choose to wield it Galantine is truly the force to be reckoned with.
