Warframe stopped working properly?

While idling by in my orbiter, switching through warframes and adjusting builds, I suddenly couldn't switch frames and it gave me a "please wait" sign and all I could do was exit/walk around but I couldn't access anything. It wasn't a networking issue as I could still access the internet tabbing out and whatnot. I touched the side of my PC where the GPU was and it instantly almost burned my hand (GeForce 1080ti 11GB). I know these are supposed to get hot, but I noticed a fan or something turn on that hasn't before, and it only turned off once I force closed warframe.

My PC is only a little over a year old, so I don't know what the issue could be. This is the first time it happened and it only happened in Warframe. Idk if its a cooling issue, or GPU, or even the game?

I usually run everything on max settings with no issues so this is the first time I am concerned.
