Heavy attack unable to proc status

I know that with heavy attacks in the new system, many have a forced effect… Be it a status, crowd control, etc. However, is this supposed to prevent the weapons natural statuses from applying? Case in point: my lacera has 99% status chance after mods. However, it never procs slash status or any other… On heavy attack it only does the pull-in. I can get my scythe to Proc status with a heavy attack, but it doesn’t appear that any weapons are also applying status based on mods/status chance. Bug, or intended?
