Can't connect to chat, even though the rest of the game works fine

I've been playing for a while today, and I thought it was weird that I wasn't getting any trade requests or that nobody responded to me in public squads. Then I noticed the blue "loading circle" when I opened the chat box. I eventually got the message: "Failed to connect to chat server." The rest of my game is working fine, so I don't think it's a problem with my Wi-Fi or anything. This is a serious problem because I won't be able to trade or anything until it's fixed. Please help.
