Kuva lich abilities that feel cheap, and/or cheat on the player.

The more I fight Kuva liches, the more apparent it becomes that some things could use some... changes.
Issues that feel like the lich is cheating you.

Wrong combination:

Getting instakilled, for getting a wrong guess, feels extremely cheap.
If anything, the lich should give you a kick instead.
One that deals damage, and can be survived, if healthy enough.

But this auto- 'I win, you die' -situation.
It's just.... it feels... low (to try and word this as politely as I can).

Not even invulnerability states protect against this.
A phoenix renewal, or a Nidus with 100 stacks?
Nope, every wrong combination, is payed with a forced revive.
No bleedout, just... death...

You'd think the feeling will go away.
But nope.
After another failed attempt, it keeps feeling just as absolute cheating, like the first time did.

Rescue:

My recent one, was at a rescue.
Everything goes well, and I try to lure the beast out, before rescueing the target.

Off course, she doesn't do that, and appears AFTER the rescue.
Well, no biggie.
I'll protect the target, and take whatever requiem murmurs I desire.

Somewhere amidst the chaos (nyx controlling the play field perfectly),
the rescue target decides to get very courageous.
And instead of staying near me, he rushes into the crowd.

The lich gets a hold of him, and does her smashy move.
When finished, the rescue target does not enter a bleedout state.
Instead, the mission just auto-fails.

Just because these 2 decided to get a hug.
All that work, and requiem progress is lost.

Even a Sortie allows bleedout states.
It's not like the rescue target has the health and treatment of an arbitration defense npc.

Rescue/defense NPCs allready move erratically.
Having no bleedout on a normal rescue target, feels woefully lame.

If difficulty is what is being aimed at,
then at least allow the player to risk their life, to help the rescue target back on their feet.

*snap of the fingers* failed...
That just feels wrong in every way.

I didn't know how they interact with rescue NPCs, but that sounds super annoying. In general it would be nice, if the liches showed up earlier during a mission. Especially in exterminates it is often super annoying, because the liches spawn way back. Not only does this mean, that you have to backtrack a lot, you also don't really get to farm murmurs around them. Having the lich show up before the prison chamber specifically, would solve the problem of it killing the NPC.

The issue with the liches killing players is difficult. I get, that they are supposed to be powerful and able to fight back, but they way they are now, they don't actually feel that way. And it's not even a big deal, that you die. It's really just annoying, especially when you are trying to level weapons. As it is now, the whole thing in general feels weird.
I would have done the whole thing differently, starting with how you actually get a lich to follow you. Right now, you go to cassini on saturn, because that is the lowest level capture mission where they spawn and they spawn all the time. Instead there could be a mission, that is specifically done to acquire a lich. It would be solo and you keep just keep going until you die. Whatever kills you, is going to be your lich and the further you got, the more powerful it and its weapon would be. Ephemera chances would also increase, the further you got in that mission.
Farming murmurs or whatever the progression would look like, would be more integrated into the rest of the game. I wouldn't even mind if it took longer, but I didn't have to farm specifically for it.
And then finally, I would prefer if the liches were actually just unkillable without the proper mods. As it is now, you are really doing the hard work first and then have to hope, that you get to finish it. They could for example have 3 of their thralls around them at all time and each would have to be killed with a specific mod and in a specific order. Or they could have 8 around them and you have to find out, which ones the lich is linked to.
Iirc they were supposed to be linked to railjack and squadlink anyway? So maybe we can get an improved system once railjack works better and the liches are also added as crew members with the command tree.

Here is another example of how a rescue mission can turn out.

Spoiler

Know that the mission was labeled: exterminate

I also came too late for an appointment thanks to this.

Too much happens, to make believe.
So instead... let the video speak for itself.

Enjoy.

Lich tankyness:

I also remember something about...

- the bullet sponge of Saturn Six...

Many useful feedback was given, by a legion of voices.
All expressing the same.
What a horrendous ammo sink it was.

Now... there is this.

Spoiler

Know that the fight was allready going on for a good 20-30 minutes.
Basically... more of what you see here.

Weapon was modded to complement her weakness: Radiation.
Health, perfectly fine for 4 people to play whack-a-mole.
But for 1 person...

Same story here.
The video says all the rest.
