Companion app no longer closes properly

For the last few days, the companion app (on Android) doesn't actually close unless I use the force stop function from the OS. Neither swiping the window away, tapping the X, nor using the button to close all aps and clean up RAM does anything about it.

This leads back to another problem, one that I have always experienced, which is that the login in the app and in the game compete with each other. Any time I log into the game, the app is technically logged out (sometimes ingame login warns about that) and cannot be used any more until restarted. Which essentially means I have to restart the app every day.

While a solution to the that underlying problem with the logins would be appreciated, I am much more concerned about the app not closing until forced by the OS.
