Releasing a companion to Son yields no rewards

Per the title, releasing a companion yields no rewards, likely as the game is set up to reward standing instead of an item. But seeing as no standing is given the game gives us nothing instead of the promised tokens. I've only tested with Predasites, it is unknown if Vulpaphyla also fail to yield tokens.
