Damage 2.0 Needs A 2.1 Update Already.

Mire still is a regular sword with a proc, instead of dealing partially toxin damage.

Amphis is still just a stick with a proc instead of doing partially electric damage.

Supra, Dera and Cestra all deal conventional damage types, even though the unreleased Detron is listed as Radiation, and Lanka is Electric.

Quite a few weapons deal symbolic ammounts of damage types they don't need to and probably shouldn't deal, just for the sake of covering more/all damage types.

Multiple bullet weapons have a simple cop-out by having their original damage split equally between the basic physical damage types.

Meanwhile things like the Acrid, which shoots poisoned darts(as in, should logically have a physical puncture component) deal purely elemental damage based on pre-patch expectations, rather than any kind of consistent internal logic.

It's like DE only went half way with their ideas.

Not only that, but Damage 2.0 failed to address one of(in my opinion) biggest issues of the old system: weapons being rendered obsolete.

Sure, damage types helped a bit, but the issue remains, with the problem weapons being simply rotated a bit, and in some cases not even that.

This is partially due to the fact that weapons with a higher damage total will often have as much or more points in a damage type that could potentially make their "weaker" counterpart shine, but primarily, due to the fact that you can still get an outright advantage via elemental mods, due to the way scaling works in Warframe.

Usually at this point the poster should suggest some sort of solution, but I like the direction DE is taking things so far, so all feel is really needed is to say is: "Keep going."

It feels like the basic systems are in place and now all they have to do is tweak a lot of the weapons to actually fit their vision. This means actually giving each weapon a thoughtful balance of damage types and setting their proc rates accordingly, NOT just slapping on a universal 10% /2.5% chance for everything.

For example - all ragdoll weapons (Kogake, Kestrel and Obex) got horribly nerfed due to forcefield damage no longer existing. These should be given high proc rates to compensate. Torid should have an extremily high proc rate to compensate for the fact that it can no longer slow with poison clouds, which was VITAL to the weapon being at all useful. (it's also broken by the new system but that's a different kettle of fish entirely)
