Strun Incarnon Question

Question

I see damage per pellet is +650 for regular and prime is only +25 ish

Normal is

Regular - 400(ish)

Prime - 600(ish)

So +650 means about 1000 for regular strun where prime is not even 700.

After the SC buffs sure the % is a bit higher but the prime doesn't seem that much better on paper. Maybe not as good. I have all four strun weapons so I'm not sure to which to add the incarnon genesis adapter. Seems the prime is more balanced before / after incarnon triggers?

Strun Prime is leagues better, you're forgetting Strun Prime has higher critical chance, status chance, and critical multiplier without Incarnon making it deal more damage before engaging Incarnon whereas the Strun leans heavily on needing it. The +X Damage perks are also not affected by Galavanized Shot, meaning when you are applying status to enemies and you got the perk with 54 more damage per pellet, it does not benefit at all from Galvanized Shot (in short, you're not getting your 80% damage increase per status affecting the enemy on 648 of your damage, meaning you may as well ignore the fact you're getting such a boost in the first place since. With Galavanized Shot at 4 Status on a target, Strun Prime has 2517 damage per trigger pull vs Strun's 1908, and that's before critical chance). Strun Prime has less of its damage not affected by Galvanized Shot than Strun would making it deal more damage per shot because of that as well.

Avid user of Incarnon Strun here.

Base damage isn't the only stat that matters with weapons. Even though the base Strun gets a far higher base damage increase compared to Strun Prime, the latter still wounds up being the better of the two due to other factors like crit chance, crit damage, and fire rate

When deciding on which variant to apply incarnon adapters on, generally the safest bet is the Prime. Other variants may seemingly get higher stat buffs but more often than not the Prime ends up with the highest numbers in the end
