Art Tips Please?

So I started messing around with Black Ink in steam?
I'm looking t get into more digital art. I had been messing around with photoshop before.

I made something pretty basic but it's not great  >.<

In fact it looks alot more vibrant and detailed in my head.

I have troubles....expressing that art onto canvas correctly.

Another difficulty I have is poses I can't really draw figures well. 

Does anyone have any tips to strengthen my foundation?

Keep calm and think hard if you can imagine the poses try imagining them on the paper you are drawing on and try doing it. i'm more of a painter than artist and if you drew something that you want coloured you can always pm me

Do thumbnails

it's helpful when your idea isn't very clear and it's great to expore different compositions

 

Also practice with general shapes: cilinders, sqaures, etc

I'm not familiar with black ink - I have it but I'm waiting for some features to start moving from photoshop to it

what I recommend is to not use white to do the highlights or lighting, use a color

you could also always benefit from using photographic reference

Sketch quickly what you have in mind, add some color and look for references that could help you.
