Throwing objects

For some reason, exploiter orb in particular has disabled the throwing mechanic when the alt fire button is not already presented to us by the weapon we hold at hand, at least in warframe mode. The way to negate this for me was to pick up the thermia thing in operator mode and throw it there, others have said to press the deflect snd heavy attack button simultaneously to produce the throwing mechanic.
