Does anyone have setting recommendations that can improve how fur looks on vasca/kubrow

Just incubated a vasca kavat to prepare for the update and we pretty disappointed by the fur texture. Are they any specific graphic settings that can make the patchy red fur look better?

I saw a few posts about kubrow fur changes with the Dante patch but no one mentioned vasca kavat so I'm not sure if a change occurred at that time. 
Does the fur on the face and shoulders really look that patchy for everyone, is it a bug, or do I just need to change some settings? This issue has killed my interest in trying to build a vasca when the update drops.
