How do I link my steam account?

I'm a returning player. I haven't played in a long time. I think last time was before covid. 

When I logged in, I noticed that there was a log in with steam option, so I did that. It told me that I needed to bind my account, so I did that. I got an email with the code, I put it in, I thought I was fine, so I tried logging on through steam again, and then it said there is no account associated with my steam account, so I went through the proccess again, and AGAIN, when I logged through steam it said there was no acount associated. 

I looked through, and thought that the issue was that I didn't already have a proper steam account, so I went to make one. It said I needed a new name, so I put one in, but I get an error message saying that my steam account is already linked to a different warframe account.

I'm now at a loss. I'm being given two entirely different messages. 

 

I just tried to trade, but it tells me I need to log into my warframe account, but I'm already logged in. I'm literally editing while my game is running. I don't get what's going on.
