mysoggyknee
This started happening after I changed my refresh rate to 75hz to test my performance in Warframe but later changed it back to 60hz. I've confirmed it's set to 60hz in both the Windows control panel and in the Catalyst Control Center so I'm pretty sure Warframe is forcing my monitor to run at 75hz. This shouldn't be a huge deal but now there is a pause for several seconds every time I alt+tab Warframe as the monitor switches between refresh rates and it's very annoying. I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling Warframe but the problem persists. Edited December 4, 2013 by mysoggyknee
mysoggyknee
Okay I seem to have somewhat fixed it by disabling Vsync in Warframe and enabling vsync in RadeonPro (CCC wasn't doing anything). Still don't know why Warframe was using the wrong refresh rate. Edited December 4, 2013 by mysoggyknee
aim4it
Because most games are written to select the highest refresh rate available for a given resolution. Therefore when alt+tabing the video card has to reset the display to the desktop preferred 60hz from the games 75 hz. It is odd that they allow you to specify the aspect ratio but not refresh rate in the display options.
