Trading Mods For Plat?

I keep seeing posts of a trading system between players where mods are sold for plat. This trading system, whatever it be, seems to be impossible to find any info on it. the wiki seems empty regarding it and players I speak to know nothing of it. Is it simply in clan trading? Account selling? Trading via a website? I would really appreciate some clarification on what the hell this black market it really is. Selling my Sure Footed mods for 200 plat each sounds like an amazing deal.......

People offer trades, and once there's an agreement between players, they invite either one to their dojos and use a trading kiosk to initiate and finish the trade.
