Shimonoki_Ryuji
Hello, fellow Tenno! Here's a rough event concept, that requires you to do a chain of multiple types of missions inone go, to destroy an enemy air base, ground base and an underwater base. There are3 parts of an ancient Orokin artifact, that we need to collect and assembletogether. This event might as well introduce the new swimming and stealth mechanic, that'sbeen talked about in some livestream, as well as some refined mission types, suchas Spy, Sabotage, Deception and Rescue... I don't have a concept on these, though, since i don't play them much and don't know how to make them interesting. Idea for a ground base Spy - to find out how to get into the baseExtermination - to get into the baseCapture - to find out where the data center itMobile defence - defend data center, while Lotus hacks itWave Defence - defend an artifact for X wavesSabotage - destroy the base reactorSurvival - last for 10 min and find the exit, before base blows up Idea for an air ship Spy - to find out the ship's locationStealth - to get inside (since we invaded the last base)Rescue - to find a hostage, that knows where data center isMobile Defence - defend data center, while Lotus hacks itDeception - Lotus prepares a datamass and we reroute the ship so it crashesAssassination - we kill the ship's commander and he turns off the life support at the last momentSurvival - last for 10 min and find the exit, before ship blows up Idea for and underwater stronghold - from the collected data we found out there'sa secret underwater base, where the last part of the artifact is located. We don't know what awaits us there, cause when we get near the base, the connectionwith Lotus breaks, so now the team of Tenno must complete the task on its own. Stealth - to get insideExterminate - to get samples of what the enemy areCapture - to get locations of some important placesSpy - we hack some dataterminals and find out moreRescue - we save some small colony of underpeople, that are slaves for the enemy and they tell us where the reactor is.Sabotage - we destroy the power supply and move forward, but...Assassination - in the middle of the fight we confront the Stalker himself. He has the same abilities like now, but not as powerful, so he can't nuke us right away. Stalker escapes, leaving us with some info about him, about us, Tenno, about Lotus and stuff, as well as with the last piece we needed. Survival - as the reactor is down, so does the life support system. Survive for 10 min, to find oxygen aqualangs (correct me, if that's the wrong name). Now, find the exit and... swim your way out to surface. We tell Lotus, that the S#&$ is done and we have all the needed pieces. In the end we get some Vandal weapons out of that as a reward... So, what do you guys think?
Kninsurai
I really like the idea. Having a war campaign in a single mission sounds pretty awesome. The current mid-mission changes are not that fun to me since they're random and don't flow well. But I feel like the survival parts are kinda forced. I mean if the base is blowing up (or we're setting a bomb) why stick around for 10 minutes? Rearrange the missions a bit. For the base, instead of an Exterminate have Lotus send us a sapper squad that blows up the front door. We defend them and break in. Then after we find the Artifact it starts spewing toxic gases and fills up the base, making it into a Survival (instead of Defense) until you can contain the Artifact. Finish with an Extermination; you want to clear the base so you can setup a bomb to blow it up. Likewise for the Ship, after you reroute the ship, the captain turns off life support outside the bridge while his crew tries to fix the navigation. You have to survive and hack a number of doors leading to the bridge. Then you run the Assassination on the captain and leave. I'd say to make the Stalker the last part of the underwater base. Make the exit available when the Survival starts, but when you get to the last room the door is locked. After you (all) enter the room and attempt to hack the door the Stalker destroys the door controls with an arrow (boss cinematic?) and you have to fight him. O2 canisters will drop in the room and after the fight you have find another exit.
Shimonoki_Ryuji
I do see your point, regarding the "forced" survival, i thought this part was necessary, cause when, let's say, the reactor is down or blown up, the base starts to slowly crumble, leaving us with reduced oxygen. We still have to find the exit. Sure, i know, that Lotus can guide us there, but i thought that little part when you search for an exit and survive, fighting against the escaping enemies, was kind of cool. The survival doesn't have to be 10 min, it could be 5 min. I think it gives a little juiciness and more mission types are included. So it extends the gameplay a bit ^_^ An nope, Tenno do not set bombs, that's not their style of doing business XD Well, yes, you might be right, regarding switching the last 2 missions on the ship. It makes sense :3 Regarding the ground base: yes, indeed, that would have been nice too, but the thing is, i didn't want to make a defence in the first half, because Tenno still need to get some more info about the base. It's not the regular one-objective mission, it's more complex. And by the way, extermination's a bit easier (cause you always get lesser enemies in the beginning and more in the middle) and can be done in stealth, which adds some variety for players, who want to feel more like a ninja and sneakily kill them b@$t@rds. Yes, the majority will most likely bash in and quickly slice/shoot their way through, but i think another way of doing things should stay. By the way, the idea of sending a sapper squad is good, especially because DE mentioned they'd like to add an Escort mission, so that we can lead them further into the base. However, lorewise it doesn't make much sense, cause we don't have any companions except our fellow Tenno and our sentinels on the battlefield. Perhaps, i have missed something... Regarding the underwater base: again, the survival at the end was intended to be a connecting piece between the crumbling base, that gets filled with water over time and the search for exit. Stalker just spawns out of nowhere like he always does and we fight him. During the time we fight, the life support is still present, but after we fight Stalker, we (and him) unintentionally over-do some damage. That fight was supposed to be the last drop of water into the glass (if you can understand the metaphore), that triggered the base crumbling too soon. When the survival is about to end we accidentally find some aqualangs and an exit near them. Well, why not? Hollywood blockbusters add these kind of action scenes and "accidental" help out of nowhere XD The flaw of your idea here is that when we fight Stalker, life support is already gone, so it's gonna be really tough to fight him in these conditions. And he is no easy boss :3 Anyway, thank you for constructive critics :
