konfetarius
It doesn't really stack up to other combo elements - each one of them has a serious advantage, with Gas damage easily having the worst proc and most useless damage bonus. Radiation - great against bombadiers + some other Grineer + good disabling proc Corrosive - great against Heavy Gunners + Disruptor/Toxic Ancients + good damage amplifying proc against Grineer Magnetic - annihilates shields (see Corpus faction) Blast - great against Disruptor/Toxic Ancients and fantastic disabling proc Viral - fantastic proc against high HP units Gas - great against... light infested and a low damage proc. Seriously, who needs help killing light infested? Rainbow build wise Radiation + Viral = excellent anti-Grineer combo, with great damage bonuses against their light units, good anti-armor scaling against the heavily armored Bombadiers, and both elements procs (CC and % health strip) serving as decent back up plan against Heavy Gunners (the only Grineer unit that is sturdy against this damage combo). Corrosive + Blast = another great anti-Grineer combo, with anti-armor bonus against Heavy Gunners and certain light Grineer, and both elements procs (CC and % armor strip) serving as back up plans against bombardiers (the Grineer units sturdy against this damage combo). Also functions as a good anti-infested combo, where you get absolutely massive damage bonuses against Toxic/Disruptor infested; with main downsides being a small damage penalty against healing ancients (immediately least dangerous of the 3 ancients) and corrosive proc not really doing anything. Magnetic + Gas = now this here is a weak combination. Magnetic already pigeon holes this to be an anti-Corpus; but Gas is terrible against them (150% Toxic Damage is equal to 300% gas damage against Corpus flesh... and Robotics health tends to be so low the 25% damage penalty on Toxic is irrelevant). So you have no practical reason to actually convert Toxic Damage into Gas damage, especially when you remember that Toxic damage also bypasses shields for when drones get involved with their shield restoration. And, no CC proc unlike the other two options. So it fails on the counts of being bad for damage, and bad for supporting proc effects. And, if you want to consider Void missions, this combo is still inferior to the other two due to Magnetic and Gas damage lacking meaningful bonuses against the health/armor of heavier units in the Void. Literally the only use Gas damage has is for killing light infested units. Which are already the easiest enemies in the game. Some ideas for a gas buff: 1. Light Unit Killer - this idea is to expand on Gas's role as a light unit killer agaisnt everything. Give it high damage bonuses on everthing except Protoshields (heavy Corpus units), Sinew/Fossilized (all 3 Ancient types), and a middling bonus against Alloy/Ferrite (+25-50% range). This results in Gas having a stand alone use of being extremely ammo efficient against trash enemies, but not being any special at killing the heavy untis of any faction. Magnetic + Gas combo becomes is further solidified as anti-corpus and retains some light unit killing utility in the shield infested void while still being weak against HealingAncients/Gunners there. 2. Better Proc - the AoE toxin damage proc is kinda weaksause. It could be another crowd control proc to mirror the other 2 rainbow combos, it could use to just be flat out stronger than just being a small AoE Toxin Proc (making the cloud larger/more damaging could combo with the light unit killer buff idea), or it could do something else entirely. Not sure what else it could be, though.
Leuca
The damage tables are still in dire need of balancing. I think DE knows this.
