Battle Scars (Fanfiction)

Hey everyone, after reading through the forums a few days, I've become inspired to write a fanfiction. Before anyone reads into it, I'd like to make a few things known.

-It's NOT canonical at all

-Some language may be odd or otherwise difficult

-I won't update it daily due to a busy life.

Now, we shall begin.

Clarke awoke from cybernetic slumber. As his legs became operational, so did his "mind."

The Tenno are often observed as cybernetic sentient beings, nano-beings within frames of armor suited for war and battle. While not necessarily free-willed, their actions are led by the Lotus, an overlord, if you will. Each Frame has their own abilities and appearance. The Tenno inside is not able to choose the Frame they are given, for it is assigned by the Lotus in charge of them.

Clarke was a Rhino. Not inside one, but one in itself. He enjoyed the tank qualities and the ability to stomp everything in his path into a stasis. Acrobatics weren't his thing, like squadmate Sandra. She had reign over the skies, a Zephyr Frame. The other two were new, as the Lotus had awoken Clarke from stasis sleep for a mission.

He donned his usual helmet, one that would allow him full power while continuing to move at his slow and clunky pace.He arrived at the ship in the docking bay that would taxi him to Kappa. Some Grineer were getting restless and attempting to pry the base back from the Corpus. Clarke and Sandra exchanged friendly nods as they met the new blood for the mission.

One was a newly commissioned Ash Frame, built for stealth. The battleplan was to have him infiltrate first, assassinating those who guarded the main doors, with Zephyr to travel along the ceiling pipes and manipulate drafts to divert enemy attention away from Rhino. Clarke himself would simply walk straight to the objective, in this case, a data center the Grineer would be using to communicate with command. Once there, he would hack the console, destroy the data logs, and escape the impending base alert with his Iron Skin.

And then there was the 4th member of the squad. An Excaliber who used no nickname. He was the most experienced of the squad, having been to nearly every planetary system at least once, and without a single error. The Lotus only instructed the others to let him perform his mission. Clarke and the others nodded as the taxi took off.

The ride went without a hitch, as the Frames got into position to begin. Turns out that Excaliber would be accompanying Sandra on the pipe system. With the go from her, Ash moved into position and silently sniped the first two targets with her Paris. Another 3 quickly fell with 3 swift shurikens, and in just a couple minutes, the entire first floor was wiped. Clarke stepped into the elevator.

As it rose, the electricity cut out. The lights flickered and the door jammed halfway open. Clarke stepped out to see a blur whiz past Ash and disappear into the darkness. He charged his way out and ran over to Ash, lying on the floor unresponsive. The lights came back and he saw Zephyr standing on the pipe, Excaliber behind her, simply staring at the Frame on the ground. She was gone.
