Ace4225 Posted February 13, 2014 Share Posted February 13, 2014 I love sniper weapons in this game, but I feel they need more of their own niche, as right now, most of the map tiles confine us to narrow passages, congested arenas, and very few open areas. Most of the warframes with weapon-enhancing abilities focus on melee combat or pure damage output.Introducing Vigil, the sniper warframe. [male] Starting stats:Health - 85 Shields - 90 Power - 75 Armor - 65 Sprint Speed - 1.13 Stamina - 100 Polarities - [LINE] x2, [DOUBLE-CLAW] x4 Abilities: 1. Precision Strike (50p) – “Vigil steadies his aim and prepares for a killing shot.” Affects Vigil's next shot with his primary/secondary weapon. − Increases weapon damage by 25 / 50 / 75 / 120% (does not affect crit multiplier) − Increases accuracy by 25 / 50 / 75 / 100% − adds 12 / 15 / 18 / 25% weapon zoom 2. Countermeasures (25p) - “Vigil raises the defenses of all squad members, enabling them to fight longer.” Vigil instantly restores the shields of all squad members to capacity and makes them temporarily stronger. − increases total shields for all squad members by 5 / 7 / 10 / 15% − increases shield recharge time for all squad members by 10 / 15 / 20 / 25% (factored after recharge rate mods) − shield buffs last for 5 / 8 / 12 / 18 seconds − has a 3 second cooldown after ability expires 3. Hang Time (75p) - “Vigil slows time in a bubble around him, enabling him and his fellow Tenno to react faster than their enemies.” Vigil reduces the movement/action speed of enemies in a 5 / 8 / 12 / 15 meter radius by 50%. 4. Assassination Strike (100p) - “Vigil prepares for an ultimate finishing shot.” Affects Vigil's next shot with his primary/secondary weapon. − increases weapon damage by 50 / 100 / 200 / 300% (does not affect crit multiplier) − adds 2 / 5 / 8 / 12 meters of Punch Through − increases projectile radius by .25 / .5 / .75 / 1 meters − impales enemies and throws them back (like Paris or Ballistica)Just so this is clear, his 1st and 4th abilities have no duration; they only affect the first shot fired by whatever weapon he uses the ability with. This means that sniper rifles, shotguns, and magnum pistols benefit the most from these abilities, but any weapon should be usable with them.Vigil carries tools on his chest (see Figure 1) that he uses when activating his 1st and 4th abilities. He pulls them off his chest and attaches them to the gun he is using (disabling weapon switching until the ability's special shot is used.)Figure 1Backstory:An old Tenno warrior was successfully captured by Grineer miners. Because his warframe was badly damaged, the Grineer had their best engineers and doctors work tirelessly to remove him from his suit while, at the same time, building a new one around his body. The Grineer-fabricated warframe was given abilities that were tuned for assassinations, as the Grineer planned to train him to kill other Tenno.When Vigil awoke, he was surrounded by the despair and drab of Grineer war vessels. He knew it was wrong, but he gave in to the master's whip to spare his own life. He waited as a good assassin does, growing angrier at the abusive Grineer day by day. When his opportunity came, he broke out of his prison cell. He stole a Volkar rifle from an armory, and, using the powers the Grineer had given him, he blasted, cut, and sped his way to the closest hangar, where he escaped the dreadnaught that had held him captive for so long.He scoured the solar rail network, looking for a sign of his long-lost companions. Eventually the Tenno contacted him, and Vigil returned home, ready to fight. For the cause of the Lotus. For the fall of the oppressive Grineer. For victory and death.
