Event Concept- The Nibiru Encounter.

As we all know DE is working on a new faction and will likely have an event to introduce them so I figured I'd try to put my own idea forward as to what this can look like.

 

                                                                                     THE NIBIRU ENCOUNTER

 

They have been drifting in the outer reaches of the solar system, not sleeping, not dying, waiting. The quiet, massive station has been slowly making it's way back towards the system from when it came and from where they exiled from. The -insert new faction here- are ready to continue where they left off, obliteration of all things infected with the virus no matter what form it took. They had once been denounced as extremists for their beliefs but there were benefactors that believed in their cause and soon they were ready to cleanse the system. Yet before their plans could come to fruition, those who they viewed as abominations sabotaged their weapons and defenses. Set adrift by the Tenno the -new faction here- were exiled as the Orokin turned their back on them, content with their steel clad warriors. But in the darkness they gave up their fragile bodies and they have gained more strength than any Orokin or Tenno thought possible. Now they return on the Nibiru to bring about a cataclysm that will shake the balance of the system like no other threat before.

 

This event would be a 2 parter.

                                                                   

                                                                                               Part 1 Premise

"Nibiru is coming and our Tenno must defend themselves. The Lotus has discovered that enigmatic transmissions are being received by the Corpus who are seeing this as the second coming of their golden gods not knowing that they will be made the slaves of this new threat."

  

                                                                                                     Your Part

 

Your job is to hack into the corpus systems and triangulate where Nibiru is. This will take place by breaking into their Indoctrination Temples which are receiving the ancient transmission codes. While here you will want to take pictures of the Orokin explosive devices that they corpus are dismantling in order to make a smaller version for the mission ahead.

 

                                                                                                 Part 2 Premise

"You've found Nibiru now it's time to sabotage it's impulse drives. This is it Tenno, your first encounter with an enemy unlike any you've ever seen- prepare yourself. Plant the device on one of the many impulse drives reactors to help cripple the Nibiru."

 

                                                                                                      Your Part

 

As described you'll be boarding the Nibiru where you'll encounter the new faction for the first time. During this mission you'll be working to get to the reactors for one the many engines this massive station has. The the true core can't be breached as the doors are sealed until the outer shell needs enough repairs as to require more of the new faction to come out and repair the engines. After setting the device you'll need to run for extraction before the area is blown up.

 

                                                                                                    Resolution

 

"You've done it Tenno, the immediate threat has been averted. The chained explosions of their reactors have stressed the Nibiru to the point of collapse. However as you are aware the ship has not been destroyed and our enemies are still out there. Their ship has been seen close to the dwarf planet Eris and they've made contact with the corpus there, overrunning their labs and claiming that territory as their own. The corpus have officially cut ties with what they see as false prophets but our new enemies have gotten their foothold in the system"

 

                                                                                                      RESULTS

-Eris is now the HQ of the new faction

-Players get an Orokin-esque explosive weapon

-Random Encounters with Cleansers on OD missions (aside from def and assassinate)

-Maybe new mods

 

Feedback and suggestions would be appreciated.

It's my first semi fleshed out idea and if it's crud let me know.
