That said, straight fist weapons (non-foot ones) are terribad. It really needs those polarities b/c my kogake will run circles on this thing against corpus with that magnetic dmg and better sliding attack... and better impossi-wall-attack.

 

While I'm glad they primed a fistie (they really had no choice in which... (tenno weapon and... a lot more visual options than the Kogake). I would have liked to see Ankyros Prime have the foot attachments and have elemental sliding/charge attacks.

 

Based on the 3 prime weapons released... I'm definitely not getting Access. I love me some Bolter Prime, and the Akbronco Prime will probably take a lifetime to get, but the melee weapon is trash, I don't need platinum, and for the price, I would rather farm for Rhino like all the elder-miser players do.

So..., just to get what you guys are saying;

46% straight up damage increase is not enough to warrant being a Prime.

50% more charge damage is not enough to warrant being a Prime.

 

Okay. Maybe. Rolling my eyes a little, but fine. *inserts Melee 2.0 cue as DuWryght did*

And maybe Boltor Prime with it's way more than +100% damage is going to rock it all. However, I am very curious what the little extra of... "but with reduced range" is going to tell us. Damage falloff? or the darts will simply arc down?

 

I'll sit here and bounce laughing if the darts of the Boltor Prime are affected by damage like shotgun falloff.

I'm pretty sure The Ank Prime has the same crit rate. I just can't use it b/c it's ridiculous attack animations and lack of knockdown off a charge attack like the Kogake/Obex have. Makes for a more killer combo (charge kick + ground finisher). The combo is normally more than enough to drop lvl 30 grineer/corpus with the right elemental mods. If you are Loki, it's pretty much all over at that point.

I'm having a lot of melee weapons cooked and sitting ready to be picked up in my foundry, to be prepared once Melee 2.0 hits. Some of them are even weapons I've already maxed out to sell.

This is why I am more or less holding myself back about a lot of the melee discussions going on, because I believe that everything is prone to change anyway. And very soon at that.

 

But thank you DuWryght, for confirming my playstyle in secret. Charge attacks are so underwhelming on Ankyros and Furax. Kick and ground finisher is pretty much what I do and picking up the challenge to use Obex Wall attack to destroy an entire corridor filled with enemies feels incredibly rewarding.

 

So yay for the people like you, proving time and again that just builds and numbers are not the only things making a weapon good or not, but rather the creativity of the user of adapting with the game mechanics.

I wish you people realize that I'm not calling Ankyros Prime a crap weapon. I'm just asking for the buff so the Codex info wouldn't be false.
