The Vindicators

Who we are:

We are a community of gamers that formed 12 years ago pre-launch for Planetside. With a focus on practical tactics, we formed an active, vibrant community on launch and sustained that community long after many other outfits folded due to a declining playerbase.

Naturally, we hit Planetside 2 with a bang, forming one of the premier outfits in the game due to our open leadership structure, culture of constructive criticism of leadership, and of respect and acceptance of all members. We balance casual play with tactical gameplay, catering to both sets of players. We fully support all members looking to participate in tactical gameplay, or step up their game from casual to tactical.

We want to extend our community to Warframe and establish a real presence in this game. We want to be a force to be reckoned with. We want to build a supportive environment where personal goals and clan goals can both be achieved, one where you seldom need to recruit outside the clan to complete a mission. We want to help newbies to get good at the game and find the fun of Warframe, help everyone gear up, and be the best player they can be.

In short, our goal is to be a fun, supportive, effective community-based clan.

What we can offer you:

We have completed all research and keep up with the latest clan-tech updates. We coordinate key runs and farming runs so no one has to run alone. We host a Teamspeak server to facilitate all clan activities. We organize regular event nights in other chapters, and will do so in Warframe as appropriate. We can offer mentoring in leadership, for those who have the inclination to lead but not the skill. Many of us learned how to be effective leaders by joining The Vindicators, and we'd love to help you become one too.

Moreover, joining us in one chapter means you join us for all chapters. Once a Vindicator, always a Vindicator.

What we expect from you:

Activity is important, but we recognize that real life comes first. Most of us work for a living, some of us are students, nearly all of us have obligations outside the game that come first. Whether job, school, family, or others, we acknowledge that you can't be a gamer 24/7. Activity is encouraged, but not required.

Members may be kicked from the in-game clan for inactivity after 30 days (without forum notice of an absence). Members who are kicked for inactivity do not need to reapply, they just need to ask for a re-invite to the in-game clan.

We recognize that having to craft a new clan key sucks, but clan tiers have population limits, and we have to remove members that disappear from the game forever without notice or we'll balloon to Mountain size without the corresponding player base to support the subsequent resource cost.

We expect maturity from all members, regardless of age. Comport yourself with respect toward all fellow members and heed the instructions of the leadership. If you disagree, feel free to whisper the leader in question or take it to the forums. The leadership will give all issues a fair hearing.

Members must be 13+, no exceptions. This is to comply with U.S. law on consent to register online.

Our Leadership Structure:

All leadership are members of the community FIRST. Leaders support the community, members do not owe fealty to the leadership, though they are obliged to listen and obey, or at least voice objections in private. All member concerns will be taken seriously, all complaints given a fair hearing. Members have a say in clan policy.

Our chapters are lead by a council of three Bishops, who run the chapter, set policy and are the ultimate arbiters of discipline. Decisions by lower tiers of leadership are backed by the power of the Bishops, who hold the final word on expulsions.

Priests are our squad and platoon leaders, who lead our chapters on a daily basis and organize many of the logistics involved in supporting fun, organized gameplay. They can hand out warnings, regulate our Teamspeak, and pass expulsions to the Bishops.

Zealots are our non-commissioned officers, promoted from the ranks, with the potential to be promoted to Priests if they step up enough. Zealots can moderate Teamspeak channels for a chapter, are expected to defuse tense situations (if drama should occur), and promote order over chaos. They will lead squads in the absence of the Priests, or under the supervision of our Priests or Bishops. They are considered leadership-in-training, and will receive mentorship and training as appropriate. They are, moreover, expected to comport themselves as exemplary members of the community, and to respect and enforce our rules.

All leaders promote the social environment by ensuring that no one is left out or ignored, that everyone can find a group for whatever needs doing, and by promoting a positive environment for ALL members.

Our Rules:

First off, no cheating. If we catch you cheating, we will report you to the devs. You will also face immediate expulsion from the community.

We have a strict harassment policy enforced by the leadership. All members are accepted, regardless of race, gender, religion, creed, political affiliation, sexual orientation, gender identity, strange voice, or other factors of personal identity.

We expect all members to respect each other and maintain a civil atmosphere. If someone doesn't want to talk about something, change the subject. If you have a beef with someone and they leave the channel, do NOT follow them. If you have a dispute with another member you cannot settle on your own, contact the leadership IMMEDIATELY. We will take steps to ensure that all members can get along, and if a conflict is irresolvable, we will expel members as necessary to maintain a positive environment where everyone is accepted. Such expulsions are a last resort, but we have enforced our harassment policy in the past and will do so again in order to maintain a positive environment for all members.

Our membership is diverse and comes from all walks of life. All are accepted. Don't be a $&*^ and you won't have to worry; if we tell you you're being a $&*^, don't argue with us, just stop being a $&*^. Listen to the leadership.

We have a three strikes rule for rule violations. First violation is a formal warning. Second violation is a stringent warning and notice that you are on your last warning. Third strike is expulsion. Expulsions are handled by the Bishops, who are just and fair and will listen to both sides of the issue.

Our vision for Warframe:

We want to create a supportive environment for all members. We want to build a dojo that all members can be proud of. We want to contribute positively to the greater Warframe community. We honour the Lotus, the Balance, and our commitment to greater freedom in the Solar System.

We play both PvE and PvP. We aim to contribute to Dark Sector gameplay, whether on our own or through joining an alliance.

We want to promote tactical gameplay; in other words, play that is both coordinated and effective. We wish to contribute to all player-shaped events. We aim to hit the leaderboards with a splash.

We helped all active members to complete Tethra's Doom with a score above 1000, and our highest score was 2011. We WILL run you through a similar event in the future if you haven't completed it.

Events like Tethra's Doom are best completed within a clan, not by trawling Recruiting for random players. We formulated strategies for completion of Tethra's Doom in the best way possible and ensured that all members were able to claim all reward tiers available. We want you to feel like you're part of a team that gets results, because that's what we want too.

How to join:

Check out our website at http://www.thevindicators.com and fill out an application. Don't stress the application, it's just to help us get to know you better and to help you get what you want out of the community. Don't share more than what you're comfortable sharing! Once that’s done, hop on our Teamspeak to wrangle an invite in-game.

Not sure if you want to join us? Hop on our Teamspeak! You don't need to be a member to play with us, and we hope that you'll decide to join us when you see what a great community we are to be a part of. The address is on our website.

We are primarily an EST clan, but we have members from all over the globe, from Europe to Australasia. Our Founder was born in, lives in and works in the U.K. Many of our leaders are European.

Our lingua franca is English. Teamspeak use is required for full membership, but a microphone is not. Fair notice however: without a microphone you may not get the most out of our Teamspeak. This isn't Planetside, where you just need to be able to listen to orders. This is Warframe, and with smaller group sizes comes a greater need for voice chat in organizing and coordinating groups. If you don't already own a mic, you may want to make getting one a priority.

We more than understand if you need to avoid speaking temporarily in order not to wake others sleeping in your household. Participation in in-game events will not be restricted by an inability to speak, whether temporary or permanent.
