Everyone ended up having to drop and start over. The player carrying the datamass dropped it just before a Vauban threw up a Vortex near the ceiling. At first we thought it may drop down after the Vortex effect ended, but it didn't. Luring enemies into the area and using another Vortex on them didn't manage to pull it out of the air, either.
