Exactly How Does Oberon's "smite" Work?

I just built him this evening and am trying to get the hang of him.

However, it seems even in completely dense fights or moving groups if I smite the middle individual, no one else takes any damage at all?

 

Is this skill bugged or just need to get the hang of it?

Hmm, "how does smite work?"

Short answer: It doesn't.

They fire off to where the enemy was instead of where they're going to be.

 

It's pretty terrible and the extra beams that shoot out will mostly miss the entire time.

 

It needs a rework.

It's supposed to blow up one guy then throw those balls at other guys and damage them to.

 

What it does is pokes that one guy and throws balls everywhere doing next to nothing.

 

It's on Nekros soul punch level of terrible... at least his CC's.
