Gate Crash Sudden Fail

I was doing the Gate Crash event with one other person. After a couple of minutes we suddenly failed the mission. We were looking around for the cache and failed while it was still at 0/3. Does the mission fail you if you spend too much time searching for the cache? If so, it'd be nice if Lotus would warn us that we should hurry to the Portal. Looks like a bug to me tho.

Did you activate the power generator consoles?  If they're destroyed after being activated, the mission fails.

No, we haven't. We didn't go to the room at all before it suddenly failed us.

Yea, this happened to me too, like just now. Nothing was being attacked, just looking for caches, no timer, and sudden fail.

 

It is definitely a bug, because once I spent 20+ minutes just looking for caches and no timer to fail you. You SHOULD be able search indefinitely, with the only reason to fail being that the two consoles get destroyed by the Grineer.

That's not as bad as holding onto void key and trying to find those resource caches, only to suddenly fall through the floor into the void and dying, losing the key.

This is not a clipping issue, but a spontaneous mission failure that goes against the game's intended mission regulations.
