Way Points Or Save Points

I think one way to fix the losing everything issue if you fail, get disconnected, or whatever is to put in waypoints or save points in the missions. Once you reach the way point/save point, you can keep what you got up to that point. And each can only be used/passed once per player. If you abort the mission, you still lose everything. But if you fail, get disconnected, server crash, whatever, you lose only what was gained from the last way point/save point in the mission. That way, you get to keep something from doing the mission and it doesn't feel like you just wasted all your time for nothing. Which is how it feels now. Short missions get 1 way point/save point and larger ones get more. I have not done any defense missions as of yet but even those could use a save point. After so many waves, save point, so many more, save point, and so on. With the way point/save point system, once you make it to a point, everything up to that point, including xp, is yours. If you die before the next point or completion, then you lose everything, including xp, but only from the last way point/save point you used/passed. That is a pretty fair trade off compared to what it is now. Just an idea.
