Does Fire Damage Actually Do Anything?

I've only ever noticed fire damage distracting Corpus non-mechanical humanoids and sometimes Grineer for a second or two. Does it do some damage that just doesn't show up as a value would when shooting the enemy?

It's extra damaging on infested.

Sometimes when you host you'll see the elemental damage numbers, and most of the time you aren't host you won't see them but you're still inflicting elemental damage on enemies. But like said before, works great against infested.

not sure about the damage. but Grineer and Crewmen inflicted with fire will stop attacking you and will focus only on running around. :D

and  has increased  effect on infested
