TheGrimGamer Posted November 13, 2014 Share Posted November 13, 2014 (edited) So this is a response to the update 15.2,0 nerf of Shield Polarize... oh man what a terrible idea. Firstly the change doesn't make any logical sense, why would Mag need to see her allies to use a magnetic power on them or not be able to use it on herself and secondly... Mag has a lot of shields and she needs all of them, they're the only thing that keeps her standing especially when an enemy slips through Crush and gets a couple shots in or when fighting a boss, so taking away the ability to regenerate them relatively quickly makes her almost unplayable. This new version of Shield Polarize is nothing more than a waste of time and energy. For example why would you stop to regenerate your allies shields mid fight instead of just wiping out the enemies? Of course the easy answer is you wouldn't. The AOE ally regen was just there to help justify the 50 energy cost but it was never the primary use case for the power. Heck peoples shields tend to drop so fast that there's not even time to cast Shield Polarize on them, the skill just takes too long which was one of the reasons it was so well balanced. You had to pick between recharging your shields fast or just moving to a safer location. Now the power is more a battery for hijacking missions than anything else. So in short, please change this back. It was well balanced before and it was thematically correct before. Now it's borderline useless and Mag is borderline unplayable as a result. Issue being: Shield Polarize is ONLY good against Corpus, and Corrupted. Nobody in their right mind brings a Mag to a Grineer fight, or even Infested. She's only good for enemies with shields. To gut one of her primary powers for dealing with shielded enemies, in response to a single node that happens to house shielded enemies, is absurd. It ruins gameplay for any mission NOT on that node, not to mention Corrupted altogether, which don't even exist on natural nodes. Not going to touch on the other terrible Line of Sight decisions since this thread is dedicated to Mag, but today truly donned DE's jester hat. It was ONLY ONE fully scalable ability in game, i dont know why people see so big problem here ? have you ever been on 1h T4/ T3 surv ? how we are supposed to kill enemies there ? why other abilities cant scale as her Shield polarizate ?? every update just keep nerfnig everything we have, why ? propably its easier to change some numbers and nerf power range with LoS than make a good enemy spawn system. (This is the most absurdal thing here Magnetic field doesnt need LoS, magnetic field is not a light source, is way more advanced and basically go throught everything, you cant stop it with stupid wall or doors). I can agree that maybe some skills require it but definietly not Mag. Viver first time in game forced people to cooperate, people shouldnt call it an exploit, it was just Tactical use of warframes and they abilities, First viver nerf and excalibur changes made spawns even more broken than they were before nerf. Mags SP wasnt op, the number of enemies were a problem. I could call sechura an exploit too because everything what you had to do is sitting in one place and throw vortex every x sec. Why because of one stupid and broken map we had to destroy the oldest and the most significant warframes in game ? Because some people found a way to use they abilities with some kind of strategy, instead of jumping and fighting like crazy over the map without aby idea how they skills are working and just smashing 4 all the time ? after mag changes everyone were coplaining how her pull was OP, everyone get used that the 4th ability have to be the strongest one, but Mag was different, maybe on low lvl people were impressed by the number of enemies they kill with 4th abilty but later when they saw that this ability do practically nothing aginst H lvl enemies they switch to other warframe.
