Mod Locking Idea

What if the game had a feature to lock certain mods so that you basically can't do anything with it in regards to selling or fusing. I know there is a confirmation screen and all, but I'm sure many have had the following scenario happen.

 

You have a really great set of mods for a gun/sword that just hit 30. You proceed to get a new gun and unload all the mods from the old gun. While leveling the new gun, you earn some new mods. It's late at night or early morning and you to fuse some of those new mods. You accidentally click the one maxed out mod that was right next to the one you meant to click and in your tired state didn't notice until after you confirmed.

 

I'm thinking the solution to my idea is simple. Whenever you max a mod, it becomes locked. From that point on when you are on your mod screen (not equip screen) it can not be selected.
