The eldar chainsword looks like something out of warframe already. It doesn't need to be always revved up, it can just be activated instantly when swung. On top of that, it could have an awesome heavy melee where you bring it down onto a single enemy and keep cutting them until they drop. Bosses would be immune of course. It'd be great against the grineer heavy gunners since you'd lock them into the being cut animation, any your allies could take care of the rest. But it wouldn't be overpowered, because it's heavy can only target a single opponent. Against bosses, it could have a regular melee attack, or even have the boss throw the player back if they tried it. In fact, I might draw up some ideas and specs for one myself.
