Aerensiniac
Take any steam screenshot url, i.e.: http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/866092676087509324/91FA0200B8D36BF9114141316242425F63E325D7/ Try to put it in <img> tags and the forum returns the error message that these picture extensions are not allowed, even tho the picture will appear just fine if you press the "preview post" button. BearlyKoalified
It's not actually linking to a .jpg. If you look at the URL you will see it ends in "91FA0200B8D36BF9114141316242425F63E325D7/". The Img tag requires an actual link to the file, that is why you'll be getting the error message, in some cases it can work but most of the time it will require a direct link. Yes, i am perfectly aware that it does not end in a valid image extension, but the forum is able to read it never the less. Its just when you try and post it, then the forum prevents it with the error message that the use of this extension is forbidden. Point being: Forum is perfectly able to use the url as an image, but posting it is being denied right now. DEBrandon
It's not allowed to be posted because the URL needs to end with an image extension. If you would like to post steam images, please save the image to your computer and use a website such as http://imgur.com/ to host the image, and then post it on here. There isn't a way to fix it because it could become insecure, so you just need to make sure it ends with an image extension.
