Celestiae
The founder's bonus is Excalibur Prime, a male warframe. The new prime is Frost Prime, a male warframe. The new warframe in release 8 is the engineer, a male warframe. When's the next female warframe coming along?

Carcharias
The sex of the toon has no apparent affect on the stats. Why does it matter? I think all the female frames should be less "sexy" and more "war" like as they are intended for combat. And if thery were more war like (think Samus, projecting power as opposed to femininity) which ones were male or female would become almost irrelevant. As it should be IMO, given the fact that the Tenno are supplemented by their frame the sex of the indvidual in combat becomes a mute point. Mediave
Id rather a rhino or ash prime. As much as I would LOVE to have those 2, I think it's only fair we get a female or two as Primes next. We already have more Male Frames than Female. I'd really dig a Mag Prime. :D
nullCassielle
What does genders have to do anything with the game? Speaking as a female, it helps immersion. I would rather play and be seen as a female than a guy.
FoxeyeValkyrie
While I do enjoy the thought of more female frames, the thought more comes across of what type of frame would be released that would require a female frame?
Slumbering
No special treatment has been given to anyone or any gender. The release of the most recent prime is more content for the game nothing more than that. Fairness in the way its been tossed around in this thread sounds like special treatment. On that note any more prime frames will be welcome :) ::EDIT:: Speaking as a female, it helps immersion. I would rather play and be seen as a female than a guy. I couldn't help but notice your black-belt, ability to travel in space, and all the other things about your person that are helping you immerse yourself with the game. Dripping sarcasm aside can you say you only relate with your character through the shape of what you can assume are their genitals? These warframes don't even show humanoid faces. I'd love to have a he-man force of warframes as much as the next NO-MA'AM member, but I play the "female" frames as well because its fun! Can't shoot mind bullets with the excalibur, and can't sword swoosh with a nyx. Edited May 8, 2013 by Slumbering
Baigan
Speaking as a female, it helps immersion. I would rather play and be seen as a female than a guy. I'd understand that in a Mass Effect kind of game, but that's is hardly important in Warframe... Specially judging that the gameplay of each frame is different. Say you wanna feel immersed playing a lady, but happens to like the Rhino gameplay, which will you sacrifice? I guess it -is- a matter of preference, since there's a trope of several males who have an obsession of playing as girls. (stare at the rear argument), figures there would be those who'd rather project themselves into the character (even tho its a non "make your own character" game, but a game set with premade characters) rather than focus on how they handle. It's just hard for me to reason that. :( Sorry if i come out off as obtuse.

The release of the most recent prime is more content for the game nothing more than that. Fairness in the way its been tossed around in this thread sounds like special treatment. On that note any more prime frames will be welcome :) There's six female warframes, and no female prime warframes. There's six (about to be seven) male warframes, and two male prime warframes. Would balancing those numbers be special treatment, or fairness? I think fairness.

Would balancing those numbers be special treatment, or fairness? I think fairness. 6 vs. 9, or rather a current 8. I'd rather worry about the actual balance and gameplay than a faction of gender equality. I wouldn't be complaining if there was more female than male frames. I say just make all the frame have a button to swap the male/female skin. Best solution, IMO.

Celestiae
I say just make all the frame have a button to swap the male/female skin. Best solution, IMO. I agree with this wholeheartedly, and if there's a thread where this is being suggested, please let me know so I can go cheer it on. Unfortunately, DE don't seem to be doing it that way, but instead seem committed to gender-locked warframes, so this thread exists.

Carcharias
Speaking as a female, it helps immersion. I would rather play and be seen as a female than a guy.Right now my "main" is Banshee. Having double checked reality I am quite sure that I am male IRL. I'm having no problems with immersion. I am all for equality, but as I said before I think the female frames in general don't need to be so "female" and then it won't matter as much, these are frames for combat after all. Should be more sports bra and less corset, why are Banshee's hips so big? More function and practicallity and less sexy. You can only relate so much to the game on a person to toon level and honestly if the sex of the toon is coming between you and your enjoyment of playing the game I really think that there might be deeper issues at play. On the other hand, I actually don't really care about the sex of the toon, truth is right now I'm trapped in a office behind a desk which is why I'm here at all and not playing the game right now. :p Edited May 8, 2013 by Carcharias
Trost
Maybe the gender on the frames does not exist. Maybe Saryn´s %$# are in fact poison containers, and ember´s full of some flammable stuff for her powers. Looking at all the high sci fi style of this game, its logical to think that the frames can adapt to either a man or a woman (and thats the real beauty -and badassery- of it, the suits are so mysterious that you really never know what is inside, man or woman). A rhino could be carrying a woman under all that plating, and a Saryn could be a man but the design of the suits kinda makes it look tight and thin. If this game was set in the far west era, I would be the first one in asking male and female chars, since in that time the difference was very remarkable when it came to what did they wear and look. But in this future hi tech war, no. On the other hand if you just want to see %$# and asses for the sake of it, theres a lot of good quality porn (preferably not german) around. Kinda reminds me to Vindictus. Most of the characters there look like prostitutes rather than casters or warriors.
Celestiae
Maybe the gender on the frames does not exist. It does. The descriptions for a number of the warframes use gendered pronouns. The devs have made it plain that some warframes are male and some warframes are female. Therefore, this thread.
