Note: Just an idea that crossed my mind, not saying this needs to be in the game. I may or may not have been watching some Naruto yesterday. EDIT: Already the first two people that replied got stuck on the word Naruto. The suggestion is not meant to be like a naruto game. The suggestion was meant to give us more control over what we are doing. Pressing a single button cast a giant skill is......somewhat lacking in depth in my opinion. 

 

Casting ninja techniques a.k.a skills/abilities

 

What if we could cast our skills by performing a simple key combination first.

 

The idea i had is that the key combination could be performed in different ways to put an emphasis on one of the following just before a skill is cast:

 

- Duration 

- Strength

- Range

 

The precision we can pull this of with determines how powerful the skill is cast.

Now, going through the list of skills that are available, this couldn't work on all skills. For example iron skin could only benefit from duration.

 

BUT, every warframe's ulti is somewhat similar. 

So we could have this applied the fourth skill of every war-frame. 

 

Example (The execution of this idea could still be different).

 

Utli/Uber is cast by pressing 4. player chooses/presses:

 

- A for Duration

- W for Strength

- D for Range

 

after this a combination of A,W and D is displayed on screen (max 3 or 4 letters). for example: W - W - D

The speed at which the combination is pressed determines how well one of the above attributes is taken into the uber.

 

ALL IN ALL, the total time an uber is cast should be around 2 seconds. Maybe 3. Depends on you really. 

 

 

Why?

 

Adding a tiny bit of depth to the gameplay.  

 

Plus it would add to presentation. The ubers/ultis would feel somewhat different. As if you are going to be releasing a giant attack. 

 

Press-4-to-clear-room could be changed into something a bit more interesting. 

 

 

Details: (still not 100% possible with all ubers, but some could use changes anyway, duration is sometimes changed into amount).

 

Ash (blade storm)

- Duration: more enemies to strike

- Power: higher damage per strike

- Range: increased range for which enemies are able to be struck

 

Banshee (sound quake)

- Duration: sound wave lasts longer

- strength: sound wave does more damage

- Range: sound wave has increased range

 

Ember (world on fire)

- Duration: lasts longer

- Strength: more damage

- range: larger aoe

 

 

Excalibur [Prime] (radial javalin)

- Duration: more javelins fired

- Strength: more damage per javalin

- range: longer range

 

Frost (Avalanche)

- Duration: May or may not be possible. Keeping enemies frozen longer before damage is done. To give everyone a breather? Enjoy a garden of ice sculptures longer?

- Strength: More damage

- Range: longer range

 

Loki (radial disarm) (Possible suggestions for a Radial disarm change?)

- Duration: Not possible

- Strength: Is possible as radial disarm deals minor damage. But Radial disarm was not meant to be a damaging uber in the first place.

- Range: increase the aoe

 

Mag (crush)

- Duration: Same as Avalanche. Keep enemies floating longer before damage is done. Give the team a breather. or yourself.

- Strength: more damage is done.

- Range: longer range

 

Nyx (absorb)

- Duration: longer time to absorb

- Strength: Increase damage by [insert %] before returning it to your surrounding

- Range: blast range is increased

 

Rhino (rhino stomp)

- Duration: enemies are airborne/frozen in time longer

- Strength: more damage after stomp

- Range: Stomp has increased aoe

 

Saryn (miasma)

- Duration: Same as Sound quake, more 'ticks' of damage.

- Strength: More damage

- Range: increased aoe

 

Trinity (blessing) (not 100% compatible)

- Duration: Invincibility lasts longer.

- Strength: Not possible as it restores all health. Some additional effect could be in place here. If anyone is still reading, suggestions?

Range: not possible as it already has infinite range. Maybe give this ability a very long range instead of infinite range?

 

Volt (overload)

- Duration: longer time energy field is emitted. 

- Strength: more damage

- Range: longer range

I hate to break it to you but there aren't that many ninjas in Naruto. Majority of the characters are actually wizards

 

Also. You want to make an already hectic (with desync and shockwave moas) combat into even more of a clusterfuck of trying to do combinations

That would depend on wether Warframe is based on actual ninjas, which were basically athletic assassins or the game version of ninjas, like Tenchu, Ninja Gaiden, etc.

Personally, I wouldn't want to see Naruto-Frame, so I'll pass on the idea.

I think there should be voice commands that react to the words "no jutsu"

 

So you'll be like "Bullet Attractor No Jutsu~!"

 

Or

 

FUS RO DAH NO JUTSU~!

 

 

Then after that is implemented DE_Steve will shoot himself in the face with a 12 gauge.
